PARISH MISSION 2010:

“MAKING STRONGER FAMILIES”
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,
4001 Edgewater Dr, Orlando, FL 32804

PARISH MISSION WITH A DIFFERENCE!

Sunday-
Sunday-Tuesday, DECEMBER 5—
5—7, 2010
7:00 pm

Each Advent we have a Parish Mission.

Advent is a time when we think of Mary and Joseph waiting for the child Jesus to
be born and on the first Sunday after Christmas we remember the life of the Holy
Family. That’s why this year’s very practical Mission about family life goes to the
heart of the season and the heart of the world. Pope John Paul used to say “As the
family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world”; that means this Mission is for all
of us. The talks by experts from the Counseling Center at Catholic Charities will take place at 7
p.m. on the evenings of Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, December 5h through 7th, in the
church. Join us, and invite your friends.

Talk 1 Finding the right life partner (aka “How to avoid falling for a jerk or jerkette”).
Good marriages are the foundation of good families.
This talk by Cheryl Entner, MS, IMH, and Frank Crane, LMHC is designed to
provide singles (and singles-again) with a plan for pacing relationships and exploring
the key areas that foreshadow what a partner will be like in marriage. If you are on
“jerk-alert” you can avoid a lot of heartache. Bring your teenagers to this talk!

Talk 2 How to cope in today’s world.

Modern life is not easy and our stress levels have been heightened by the recession.
Cheryl Entner, MS, IMH, and Frank Crane, LMHC, LMHC encourage us to look after ourselves
and our own sanity so that we can be at our best and give of ourselves more generously.

Talk 3 How to parent with confidence.

For most people the greatest work they will do in their lives is to raise children and
bring them to mature adulthood. We know it’s not easy! Cami Tarasewich, MSW, MSW
draws on her experience of the best and worst of parenting. Parents, grandparents and
all who interact with the young can learn from this talk.

A collection will be taken at each talk and will be used to help families access
the services of the Counseling Center at Catholic Charities of Central Florida.
