Dalam perhitungan pada kondisi gelombang hogging ini akan dipakai pendekatan sebagai berikut :
~ Panjang gelombang (Lw) sama dengan panjang kapal (Lpp).
~ Tinggi gelombang untuk kapal di atas satu puncak gelombang :
Hw = Lw / 20 L= 116.20 m
= 116.20 x 20 π= 3.14
= 5.81 m
~ Bentuk gelombang Sinusoidal dengan persamaan :

Jadi:
sdeck dan sbottom pada semua kondisi air tenang dan kondisi hogging memenuhi
persyaratan BKI, karena kurang dari tegangan maximum (sdeck) yang diijinkan.

Kesimpulan
Modulus Penampang deck (Wdeck), dan modulus penampang bottom (Wbottom)
memenuhi ketentuan BKI, karena lebih besar dari modulus minimum.

VI.4. Pengecekan Momen Inersia


Momen Inersia Minimum pada Daerah midship (BKI 2009, Volume II, section 5.C.3):

Dimana,

Sehingga,
