EUREKA Eurostars Programme March 2011 Call

• The Minnesota Small Wind Turbine Rebate program provides financial support to commercial
businesses that install Small Wind Turbine systems.
• Small Wind Turbine systems are those with rated capacities at or less than thirty five kilowatts

Energy Storage - Fundamental Ideas Challenge

• The Fundamental Ideas Challenge is looking for fresh ideas about systems that can provide
transportable energy storage. Proposals must be notably different from existing systems and in
this case, an idea is really all we need.
• Finalists will have the honour of presenting their ideas before sponsors, investors, peers and a
panel of independent judges at the first ever Energy Storage Summit in September 2011.

Inspired Innovation

• Amount: £25,000
• Deadline: 10th February 2011

• The Technology Strategy Board proposes to stimulate innovation across its core technology
areas to help ensure that small and micro businesses in the UK are well-equipped to respond to
society’s current and future challenges.
• We have allocated up to £2m to invest in feasibility studies lasting up to three months, each
costing no more than £33,000 in total (up o £25,000). Projects may be collaborative or carried
out by a single company.

• Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) is a voluntary program intended to stimulate the

development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies while

• Under CIG, Environmental Quality Incentives Program funds are used to award competitive
grants to non-Federal governmental or non-governmental organizations, Tribes, or individuals.

• The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) provides the Plug-In Car Grant to assist private
consumers and businesses with the purchase cost of ultra-low emission cars.
• The grant works on a subsidy basis to make the whole-life cost of ultra-low emission vehicles
more comparable with their petrol or diesel equivalents, paying up to 25% of the purchase cost
(up to £5,000) on a range of approved models which are purchased and registered in the UK.
