Human Rights

The 10th December is Human Rights Day, marking the anniversary of the United Nations Assembly’s adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. The
Declaration asserts that respect for human rights and human dignity “is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world”.The following articles, chosen from Routledge
arts and humanities journals, chart the advancement of human rights in many parts of the world and identify areas where the aims of the Declaration are yet to be realised.
