I woke up freezing with my head pounding and quickly closed my eyes

attempting to lessen the pain, but all of those things quickly became obsolete
when memories from the night before, many of which were still fuzzy in my
mind, decided to make an entrance. I remembered going out to party and dancing
on top of some tables, oh great! I’m never gonna live that down. I should have
never let my friends talk me into going to that stupid college party, I’m only just
now seventeen! ‘Did I drink something?’ Was of course my first thought but I
specifically avoided everything at the party and ate before I went, who knows
what they spiked it with! Surprisingly I remembered everything from the party,
everything except leaving. So how did I get here? I thought out loud looking
around the room and realizing for the first time that I was on a stone floor and
there were chains around my wrists. After several failed attempts at getting the
chains off, I tried desperately to remember leaving the party but every time I did,
my headache intensified and things just got more blurry. Soon I won’t even
remember going to the party at all. If I did drink something it must have been
after I left Hailey’s because I could swear her brother walked me home, right? No,
maybe I stayed the night with Lea or drove myself home? “Ugh! I can’t
remember!” I screamed to the darkness which was doing wonders for my head
but really starting to creep me out. I stood up using the wall to support myself
and started to look around, well more like feel around since even after my eyes
adjusted to the lack of light, I couldn’t see a thing. After about five minutes of
aimlessly wandering around I found that the room was huge, there was a small
sofa, a king sized bed, (which I would not be going anywhere near, ever.) a
window that was heavily sealed, and about four doors all of which were, of
course locked. So basically my search was not helpful in the least, but I did
manage to find a light switch, of course with my luck did it work? Nope. I
decided against sitting on the cold floor and deemed to sofa safe for the moment.
My head was still killing me and I was mentally exhausted from both trying to
remember what happened and fill the fuzzy spots in my memories while thinking
of a plan. I definitely couldn’t just sit here and wait for some psycho ax murderer
to come and kill me or the evil villain to come and reveal his entire plan to me. I
may be young but that doesn’t make me an idiot, I’ve seen the movies. I yawned
and said a small prayer before curling up and falling into a deep sleep hoping my
dreams might give me a better idea of what happened after the party.

“She’s sleeping”

“Thank you captain obvious” Are all little brothers this stupid? I thought to myself
while grabbing a blanket and covering the girl while Zaise just stared, well glared
at me.

“What?” I asked him communicating through our heads the way royals prefer
simply because it’s easier.

“Aireron I can hear you!” He whined, he’s already a few centuries old but I guess
all the babying he gets from my parents has made him like a human toddler.

“Well stop listening and then you won’t hear” I told him mentally rolling my eyes
while we walked out and made our way to the throne room to meet my parents
and gather with my older brother & sisters. When we entered we both
immediately went to our places next to our siblings and bowed in respect to our
parents, the king and queen.
“Aireron my son how is the girl?” My mother asked standing from her seat and
placing a hand on my shoulder. I rose from my place on the floor and took my
seat.

“Sleeping” I replied as she went to the others and let them rise as well. My parents
went on talking about some party we would have to attend while my brother
Saeden, my sister Kieley I started a conversation in our heads.

“I heard she’s hot Aire, is it true?”

“Yeah Saed like you would ever go for a human, I know you and she’s not your
type”

“I don’t have a type brother, and no I have no interest in humans, but haven’t you
heard anything mother & father have said the last few days?”

“ummm no.”

“of course, what are you doing when they are talking Aireron? You know what
On second thought I don’t think I want to know”

“Hey! ew you have one sick mind Saed”

“How do you know what I was thinking hmm Kieley?”

“I can see your thoughts you sicko”

“right, anyways that girl is special”

“you mean she’s slow?”

“No idiot I mean she has some freaky past and her future is mixed with some
special destiny crap. There’s lots of people out there looking for her and we got
her first”

“Yeah congratulations, you should be proud Aireron our brother is a kidnaper” I

laughed at that but didn’t say anything instead just listening to Saed and Kieley

“Shutup no one asked you, I heard she just turned seventeen and she’s already
arranged to marry some prince of the second dimension”

“yeah she’s not gonna take that well” Kieley cut in right before I could talk.

“how do you know?” I asked her seeing the same question in Sade’s mind.

“because I could imagine how she would feel, how would you like it if your
future was decided for you?”

“it sort of is, by our parents and not to mention the council” I mumbled hoping
they weren’t listening in on our little talk.

“Yeah but It’s different we know them & they have our best interest in mind, she
doesn’t know us at all”

“Oh I’d like to get to know her”

“again ewwww! Gross Saeden!”

“whatever I wanna meet her as soon as this little meeting is over she can sleep in
my room and I’ll get her to tell us about her powers”

“you can’t”

“and why can’t I Kieley?”

“first of all you are older than her grandparents! That’s disgusting and second she
doesn’t know about her powers yet”

“how is that possible, she’s seventeen. Most saeions get their powers when they
are eight years old”

“Yeah I know Aire, but like Saed said she’s special. We’re not even sure she is a
saeions, that’s why we have to get her to trust us, so she will tell us about her
dreams & when she will get her powers. There is a prophecy that says there will
be deadly storms and that unseen events will occur when she gets her powers, we
have to be ready. “

“wow, she gets hotter by the minute”

“you know sometimes I wonder if you’re really the older brother” I told Saed, but
before he could reply we saw that my father was speaking.

“We will meet her tomorrow, now everyone go and rest and sons remember what
I told you” He finished looking at me, Saed and Zaise before kissing my sisters
heads and leaving with my mother. Since we had stood when he got up we sat
back down, this time much less graciously. When dealing with the King and
Queen everything is proper and polite, but when it’s just the kids we drop all the
prim crap and just relax. We were about to go out for a party when we heard a
scream than several windows shatter. “What the…” I heard Saed mutter but I was
already in front of the girl’s room.
