Note: The ragas with (*) by their names have unverified parent ragas
and/or arohanam/avarohanam. If anyone has any concrete and
documented proof of the parent ragas or scales for these, please
mail me so that I can update the list. Thanks.
References
----------
For ragas which have questionable arohanam/avarohanam patterns, I have
included a notation which indicates the source of that particular
entry in the list.

(b) Ragas in Carnatic music by S. Bhagyalekshmy
Transliteration Scheme
----------------------
I have used the following transliteration scheme for the raga names:
Sanskrit / Dravidian Language Transliteration Alphabet
------------------------------------------------------
a A i I u U Ru RU
e E ai o O ow am :
k K g G n'
ch Ch j J N'
t T d D N
th Th dh Dh n
p ph b bh m
y r l v
sh Sh s H
ksh gny
L zh r' (additional Dravidian letters)
This is, for the most part, very similar to the standard scheme used
on various newsgroups. However, please note the significant deviations
from the norm in this table (th, Th, dh, Dh, H especially).

I have stopped listing names in this section because the number of
contributors has grown comfortably large. Thanks to all who have
helped...I really appreciate it!
