(misal. tali robek/berjumbai, berlubang, robek, dll).
• Bawalah beberapa masker sepanjang hari; ganti masker Anda jika menjadi
alkohol setelah melepas masker.
Penting!!!

Q: Bagaimana masker kain dibersihkan?
air, misal. 10 ml pemutih diencerkan dengan 500 ml air) selama 30 menit. Biarkan
masker benar-benar kering (lihat instruksi produsen untuk pengeringan). Buang
masker kain jika sudah rusak. Minta masker pengganti kepada Supervisor Anda.
Q: Dapatkah saya membawa masker saya sendiri sampai masker kain Vale
diberikan?

berinteraksi jarak dekat. Pelindung wajah juga dapat direkomendasikan jika ada
potensi kontaminasi mata. Ini harus diperlakukan berdasarkan kasus per kasus.

Q: When am I required to wear a fabric face mask?
The use of a fabric mask is encouraged for general use and is required where
physical distancing measures (>2m) cannot be maintained. Examples of where there
may be challenges in maintaining physical distancing guidelines might include:
• Charters, buses, vehicle travel (including carpooling)
• Cages, elevators
• Refuge/muster stations
• Meeting rooms
• Line up areas/warm rooms/start-off shift rooms
6
Q: How are fabric masks cleaned?
The fabric masks are reusable and should be routinely washed depending on their
frequency of use (should be laundered after each day of use). The fabric masks are
to be treated as a personal piece of clothing. Cleaning options include laundering in
a standard washing machine with laundry detergent and water or soaking mask in a
diluted bleach solution (1 part bleach to 50 parts water (e.g. 10 ml bleach to 500 ml
water) for 30 minutes). Allow the mask to fully dry (refer to manufacturers instruction
for drying). Dispose of the fabric mask if it is damaged. Request a replacement mask
from your supervisor.
Q: Can I bring my own mask until the Vale fabric masks are issued?
Until you receive the Vale-provided masks, you can bring your own fabric mask to
wear at while at work.
Q: What if I have been advised that I need to wear a RESPIRATOR for COVID-
19 to perform a task when physical distancing cannot be maintained and I am
working in close contact to another person?
The fabric mask is not a respirator. You are required to continue to wear your
existing respirator for these non-COVID hazards. The particulate filter or cartridge
that you are using as part of your existing respiratory protection will also provide
protection from the inhalation of COVID-19 virus (virus’ are small particles). It is
important to remember that while you are wearing your respirator, you should
continue to cough or sneeze in your sleeve as respirators have an exhalation valve
which may not contain the droplets.

Q: What if I have been advised that I need to wear a RESPIRATOR for COVID-
19 to perform a task when physical distancing cannot be maintained and I am
working in close contact to another person?
To date, a number of tasks have been defined where workers are required to work in
close contact (including face-to-face contact) where respiratory protection has been
assigned. You should continue to adhere to this guidance as the respirators will
provide added protection to the workers that are in close contact. Face shields may
also be recommended if there is a potential for eye contamination. These should be
treated on a case-by-case basis.
IMPORTANT: The use of the fabric masks is intended to provide an added level of
protection and not intended to replace any control measures that are already in
place. Users are cautioned to not relax the adherence to these existing controls
(such as physical distance, increased cleaning, physical barriers, etc) but to consider
the mask a means to further reduce the spread of the virus.
