A delicious cocktail on the beach, under an umbrella, seems the perfect scenario! But
don't let yourselves be fooled: cocktails are a disaster for the body, they have a lot of
calories and alcohol in them is hardly metabolized by the liver. "Cocktails are toxic,"
says professor doctor Ghoerghe Mencinicopschi for perfecte.ro.

"Alcohol cocktails are dangerous because alcohol cannot be metabolized by the liver in the
presence of sugars and proteins and cocktails have a lot of sugar and proteins from fruit and
eggs, and these are the most dangerous mixtures," Mencinicopschi added.

Besides sugar, proteins and alcohol, many cocktails include caffeine. "And then things get very
complicated! And if we also take medicine, cocktails will have a disastrous interference with the
medicine. People should drink cocktails very rarely and in small quantities! This particular drink
is the most toxic form of alcohol," the nutrition specialist said.

"The purer alcohol is, in the absence of sugars and proteins, the easier it gets metabolized by
the liver. Refined drinks such as vodka, the Romanian tuica, whiskey, are metabolized very
quickly. Then come authentic white and red wines. Liqueur is metabolized more slowly. Beer
doesn't contain much alcohol but it is nonetheless metabolized pretty slowly because it is
combined with sugar, especially maltose and malt proteins," says Mencinicopschi.

According to professor Mencinicopschi, the equivalent of 50 grams of alcohol in a refined drink

metabolize within 10 hours, whereas wine takes 20 hours, liqueur takes 30 and beer takes 48.

Prof. dr.

“In aceasta situatie, lucrurile
Este forma in

malt”, spune Mencinicopschi.

Potrivit profesorului Mencinicopschi, echivalentul a 50 de grame de alcool dintr-o bautura

rafinata se metabolizeaza in decurs de 10 ore, din vin in 15 pana la 20 de ore, din lichior dupa
30 de ore, iar la bere dupa 48 de ore.
