Miss Milagros Ganoza - Basic 09

We agree that Miss Ganoza’s class was OK. For the first part of the lesson, she analyzed
the picture given and related it to the goal of the lesson. She also gave more examples to
use the expressions from the vocabulary and further exercises on the grammar part. For the
reading, she asked some comprehension questions to understand the context better. She
also gave the students opportunities to realize their mistakes and making sure they
understood by asking them to explain why.

On the other hand, we would have done some things in a different way. For example, we
would have used other digital tools rather than Mimio such as Google Slides so the students
could also write on them. Also, we would have exploited the pictures provided in the book
more. Moreover, we would have provided the students with more time to answer, since they
listen to us a little later because of the video call. Since it’s an online class, we think it would
have been better if the teacher had paired the students for the homework instead of letting
them choose their partners since some students could end up alone.

Miss Paola Diaz - Basic 06

Miss Díaz did a great job at keeping her students engaged. She used different kinds of
activities so they didn’t get bored. She started every activity by modeling - she asked the
students to work together to solve the first exercise as an example and then she gave them
time to do it. Furthermore, she confirmed the instructions by asking one of the students to
repeat them. Moreover, she always smiled and praised the student’s great work. She never
interrupted the students when they gave the answer for an exercise; instead, she took notes
of the mistakes to correct them at the end of the activity as a whole class. Most of the
students had their cameras on during the class, she even used them for an activity. The
digital tools she used were appropriate for the class: Classdojo for participation and timer,
Mimio for exercises and the virtual book.

However, we would have done a few things differently. For instance, instead of using paper
to record the students’ answers we would have used Peardeck to monitor what they’re
writing. Also, we would have used pictures to explain the vocabulary for the reading,
whenever it was possible.
