This month WPW presents Southern Hemisphere
Wrestling Alliance’s resident business mogul and
member of Ebenizah J. Klaus’ new faction the
Soldiers of Fortune, Elliot Forbes.

Well it’s no surprise I’ve been ask to write an

union membership halved in Taiwan, and the
Taiwanese C.L.U (Child Labor Union) disbanded
completely. Now we can finally give those 5 year
olds a sensible wage (what are they going to buy
anyway?) And as much as he tries to deny it,
Rupert Murdoch used nearly all of said advice to
create FOX news.
Which brings me on to the question all my
friends ask me, why wrestling? Why indulge in
such vulgar brutality when you can pay to have two
monkeys trained to knife fight for just a measly
$10,000? Well my debut was partly because I lost a
wager with a certain Japanese banker, and he
thought it would be a right laugh to see me
humiliated in a wrestling ring. But I’m not the kind
of person to allow someone get one over on me. I
decided I would climb to the top just to spite that
smug bastard. But surprisingly, I found it slightly
more difficult than expected. It is by far the most
physical thing I have ever done; I have had to train
as often as possible and get to the best physical
condition I have ever been in, and I have no doubt I
will need to get even bigger, faster and stronger.
My back is sore nearly every day, and my desire to
succeed has indeed been tested. And perhaps the
worst thing, where I commanded instant respect

only a matter of time before we dominate SHWA.
ABSOLUTE RIOT

After over 30 minutes of brutality and carnage, the
Team Allstar emerged victorious in the “Riot Den”
match against the Blackest Hour. Bruised and
battered, the Allstars had their hands raised after
Rick Sanders was put through a table by the captain
of Team Allstar, Sebastian Sander. Is the feud
between the warring factions over, or will Rick
Sanders gather his troops, regroup and continue his
crusade against the team of gangstas?

The lead up to the main event EPW Championship
match at Re-Awakening 9 took another interesting
turn following the eight man elimination match at
Road to Glory 2 after Jay Taylor turned on his
teammate, Davis Storm, hitting the cutter on the
Ironman, leading to Team Jurah’s victory. Taylor’s
frustration at not becoming the champion at Hell or
Highwater getting the best of him. Jurah’s ego had

So what has been my experience as a newcomer to
the wrestling world so far? It’s harder than it looks.
There’s a big difference between watching it and
doing it. You have to want it. It’s not a sport like
AFL where you can kick the ball down the park for
fun. You have to learn some sort of humility, listen
to the people more experienced than you. Learn
from them. Then crush them.

STAR ON THE RISE
“Gorgeous” Garry Schmidt added another trophy to
his career achievements when he won the 2010
Rising Star Cup at Road to Glory 2. Schmidt won
the six man Battle Royale after getting the pinfall
on former Hardcore Shield holder, Gavin
McGavin. The 2009 EPW Rookie of the Year has
had a big 2010 so far having an article in The
Sunday Times and appearing on Channel Seven’s
Sunrise.
FOXX DEBUTS IN EPW

Brett Foxx made his EPW debut in the Rising Star
Cup Battle Royal at Road to Glory 2. Foxx
(formerly Jet West) made an impressive showing
before he was the first competitor eliminated from

the match by the eventual winner, “Gorgeous”
Garry Schmidt. It was Foxx’s first match since
January and only his third in the past 19 months.
The match also featured the in-ring debut of The
Entourage’s assistant, Hayden Zenith, who made
his first appearance in May on the first night of
Evolution 2010.
DOOLEY’S BOUNTY
Nate Dooley has put out a $2,000 bounty on the
head of Jimmy Payne, after Payne had speared
Dooley through a table and put him out of
commission at the Telethon Bash in August.
“Bruiser” Barry Schmidt was the first man to take
Dooley up on his offer at Road To Glory 2. Dooley
was wheeled out in a wheelchair by the Brothers
Schmidt before the match began, before Barry was
unsuccessful in his attempt to get the bounty.
Bobby Marshall appeared from backstage after
Payne’s victory and attacked the former two time
EPW Champion, leaving the fans in attendance
stunned at his actions. Marshall will now try to
claim the bounty by taking out Payne at Re-
Awakening 9, possibly in an “I Quit” match as
Dooley was overheard by some in the crowd saying
those words as he left the arena.

SKATER REPRESENTS NHPW IN THE US
Kellie Skater took part in the eight women
IndyGurlz War of the Roses tournament, to crown
the first ever IndyGurlz World Champion, in New
Jersey on September 18, representing the
Australian branch of New Horizon Pro Wrestling.
The Rate Tank made the Semi Finals of the
tournament before being knocked out by the
eventual tournament winner and fellow NHPW
competitor, Mercedes Martinez.
WARHORSE DEFENCE
New Art of Fighting Champion, Tama Williams
will make his second defence of the title in a triple

threat match against “The Hostile Reptile” NC
Viper and High Risk Revolution member,
“Cannonball” Kris Taylor on the first night of
Final Chapter 2010. Williams made his first
defence of the title on the second night of Global
Impact in a brawl against former TNA superstar,
Sonjay Dutt that ended up spilling outside the
arena.
HHH: HI-FI, HERITOR, HAWK
Hi-Fi Champion, Heritor will finally have to
defend his title against “Straight-Edge” David
Hawk in a one-on-one match at Final Chapter
2010 Desperate to hold on to the title he’s has held
for 14 months (at the time of writing), the match
will be contested under Heritor’s House of Fun
rules. WPW’s Tez spoke to Heritor to find out what
the rules of this match entail and all the Hi-Fi
Champion had to say to WPW was “All I have to
say to your silly little newsletter and it’s readers
about Heritor’s House of Fun is that they will find
out what I have in store for that annoying little
border crosser David Hawk at Final Chapter, he
will have hell to pay!”
BO’S TITLE TROUBLE

NHPW IndyGurlz Australian Champion,
Bombshell Bo has her work cut out at Final
Chapter 2010 when she makes her first defence of
the title against IndyGurlz World Champion,
Mercedes Martinez and “Everybody’s Favourite
Girlfriend” Jessie McKay in a triple threat on the
first night, and then if she is lucky enough to get
the win in that match, has Former TNA Knockout,
Nikki Roxx awaiting a title shot on the second
night.
PERFECT MATCH WRESTLING STYLE
Final Chapter 2010 will see the first ever Dating
Game Match to be held in Australia. Four mixed
teams enter the match with the winning team going

on a date after the show. The teams named for the WA and SA in the past 10 months.

WHY, IT’S CRIMSON LIGHTNING
T./Jessie McKay, Hallmark/Mighty Mel and

concept started in WXW as the Blind Date match
with participants including Sinn (WWE’s Kizarny),
Angel Williams (TNA’s Angelina Love), The
Black Pearl and the eventual winners, the duo of
Mana and Psycho Bytch.

STREET FIGHTING MAN
Following Crazy Train’s loss to the $oldiers of
Fortune’s Elliot Forbes at Collateral Damage, Dan
Steel proceeded to smash a pool cue in to pieces
over Train’s back, SHWA Champion, Jarrad Slate
came out to run the bouncer off, challenging him to
a non-title street fight. The 30 minute plus bout saw
the competitors brawl throughout the Courtside
Multisports Complex, with both men using
whatever weapons that could get their hands on,
before Slate hit his patented DAS BOOT!, to gain

The $oldiers of Fortune used the opportunity to Crimson Lightning made a successful return over

RETURN OF THE ALPHA OMEGA
The Alpha and Omega of Australian Wrestling,
Jake Paragon will be returning to action at Super
Awesome Wrestling Show 6000 after an absence
from action since June’s Midyear Mayhem 2010,
where he suffered an arm injury at the hands of the
$oldiers of Fortune. Paragon will be looking for
vengeance on the $oldiers, but who will he be
facing in his comeback match?
RUNNING WILD NOW ON DVD
SHWA’s August show, Running Wild 2010 is now
available on DVD at upcoming SHWA events. The
show featured SHWA Champion, Jarrad Slate
defending the title against $oldiers of Fortune
member, Sean Ravage, “Mad” Mike Massive
finally getting his hands on Ebenizah J. Klaus in a
one-on-one contest, the first contest between the
Muscle Militia and the $oldiers of Fortune and a

stepped up to the plate to accept Former Snakepit
Champion, Ace Wilson’s Open Challenge at
Collateral Damage. Late in the match the Snakepit
president, Max Profit tried to knock Massive out *****
with a chair shot, missing and hitting Wilson after
new SHWA referee Mike had been inadvertently
squashed. Massive’s win gave SHWA the lead over
Snakepit, in matches that have happened in both

“The Beast” Mark Silva won his first championship
when he defeated WXW Champion, the Perfect
Creation and Nick Folie in a Triple Threat match
on September 11. Creation had hired former ECW
manager, Bill Alfonso as insurance, but that didn’t
help the former champ as he was pinned by Silva.
Following the match, the new champion was beat
down by both Creation and Folie, before WXW TV
Champion, Dylan Night came to his aid. The Beast
will make his first title defence on September 25
against the former champion.
SA INVASION
SHWA Champion, Jarrad Slate, Former SHWA
Champion, “Mad” Mike Massive and $oldiers of
Fortune manager, Ebenizah J. Klaus will be touring
South Australia in early October for Snakepit Pro
Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Ignition. It will be the
trio’s first appearance in Snakepit since November
last year and their debuts for PWI.

Percy T. made a cameo appearance on the
September 7 edition of This is AWF Wrestling,
when he joined in with Iron Jay Coles’ celebration
after Coles had defeated Massive Q for AWF
Australasian Championship.
LIGHTNING STRIKES IN SA
SHWA rookie, Crimson Lightning (formerly Ash
Lightning) made his return from injury and
Interstate debut on September 3 at Snakepit’s
Friday Night Fights. Lightning took part in the one
night tournament to determine a new #1 Contender
for the Snakepit Championship, winning two
matches to make it to the final, where he lost to Big
Mike.

WPW AWARDS 2010
The second annual Westside Pro Wrestling awards
are just about upon us. New awards for 2010
include NHPW Wrestler of the Year and WA
Interstate Wrestler of the Year, with some awards
such as the Entrance Theme of the Year being
discontinued. WPW will once again have the WA
Wrestler of the Year award, won by EPW’s Davis
Storm last year, to be chosen by its readers. The
nominees will be posted on the Facebook page
after October 16.

Iron Jay Coles became the new Australasian
Champion on August 27, after TNT announced him
as Wayne “The Maniac” Mattei’s replacement in
the title match against Massive Q at the Penrith
Psychoticslam event. Q had originally defeated
Coles in the final of the Australasian Championship
Tournament in January at Best of the Best, after
TNT had relinquished the title due to injury.

October 1, 2005 - EPW: Dirty Deeds
Plenty of Dirty Deeds were rewarded at the show
of the same name, with JPW star, Havok returning
to EPW for the first time since May to defeat FN
Carnage in a Weapons match, with the stipulation
being if Havok won, the “Fallen Angel” Azazal
would be re-instated to the EPW roster. The Bad
Boys of Perth Wrestling (later to be known as The
Forefathers), Davis Storm and Nate Dooley became
the new EPW Tag Team Champions, ending the
near 12 month reign of the Genetically Superior
Team. In Invitational Tournament Qualifying
matches, Richter (over Tommy Cartel) and Shane
Haste (over Justin Sane, Psychofett and Los
Freemanos) advanced to the Semi Finals.
October 14, 2005 - AWF/EPW: Pro Wrestling
Showdown
The AWF promoted their first show in Perth in
conjunction with EPW, with the main event seeing
TNT defeat former WWE star Jesus Aguilera in a
match that saw the two competitors brawl
throughout the Alma Venville. Davis Storm and
Nate Dooley successfully defended the EPW Tag
Team Championship against FN Carnage and
Tommy Cartel, Mikey retained the EPW
Championship over Jimmy Payne and Future
Shock gained a victory over Kiel E. Lectrifying in
the battle between AWF and EPW. This show
would be the last time the AWF promoted a card in
Perth until 2008 with the Supanova expos.
October 29, 2005 - EPW: Goldmember’s House
Show #14
EPW invited their Goldmember’s to the Dynamite
Factory for the fourth time in 2005, with the event
headlined by the trio of Awsome Inc and Bobby
Bad Blood getting the win in a Six Man Tag Match

October 3, 2009 - EPW: Charity Bash
EPW teamed up with Telethon for the first time at
Charity Bash, with the card being headlined by the
Telethon Rumble which was won by Mikey
Nicholls, who had just returned from a successful
US tour. Davis Storm teamed up with Jay Taylor to
defeat the Team Allstar duo of Sebastian Sander
and “Big” Vin Penhero, Jimmy Payne winning a
Three Way Dance over Jamie Jurah and AZ
Vegara, and further cracks appeared in the team of
Dan Moore and Chase Griffin during their match
against Jonathon Wimbledon and Chris Vice.
October 5-10, 2009 - EPW at Mirrabooka Square Jarek Matthews and Jake Paragon continued In

(over Sven Zoltenhassan) and Jake Paragon (over
Jarek Matthews) advancing to the Semi Finals.

match over Ron Page and Sean Ravage, while Jet
West made his first and only appearance for

October 23/24, 2009 - NHPW: Southern Impact National Bandanna Bash 2009 was SHWA’s first

Westside Pro Wrestling unleashes the Wraith on its
readers with a bi-monthly column. You want some
of this? Of course you do!
So here we are at issue 2, let's see if I can finish the
first arc before this is turned into a “limited series”.
Wow Reckless Abandon...
Really who saw that coming?!?
Well I didn't, and after my match with Triple J -
Jimmy Jamal Jenkins: King of Krump (I'll get back
to him), Klaus brought out the rest of the Muscle
Militia...I was thinking to myself, “Why???” I
mean, it was only Jimmy I beat…So Klaus went to
address the crowd about something (I phase out
when he starts talking), then he gets all fiery about
how we all signed some contract which stated if
any one of the MM got the SHWA title that we
would hand it over to him. Why? Because he's
small, feeble and has the power level of the turtle in
the first episode of Dragon Ball Z (Unlike the
members of the MM, whose power level is over
9000!!) He would never have been able to get the
title himself!!
Anyways, he went to yell at us about how we
should hand it over, or face legal action...or
“something worse”. So what did we do??? We
zerg-rushed the noob, beat him down, tore up his
contact, and beat some sense into the clown, much
to the admiration of the crowd...But alas,
smartasses like Klaus have a backup plan and knew
that this would happen so his “something worse”
was (what we now call The Wiggles) Avalanche
and Elliot Forbes, lead by Sean Ravage!!! They got
the jump on us due to us being too busy beating on
our former founder. As they started to gain ground
on us, Mad (and oh and he was Mad) Mike
Massive came out to tear a sunder with a chair
against this new group of offenders.
This new group claims to be the $oldiers of
Fortune.
Westside Pro Wrestling
Now, back to the King of Krump. Busting
through the entrance and the ladies go wild. Wow,
people dig this guy? He trash talks me, winning
over the fans with his crazy dance moves, puts up a
good fight...but...coming back from an injury is
always hard and he did well, but I managed to
finish him off with my “Heaven’s Door” DDT.
The main event was Crazy Train and the new
SHWA champ Jarrad Slate! It was gung-ho the
whole match with no man willing to budge because
they both knew what was at stake. But guess who
came down to rain on the parade? The newly
formed $oF!!! They jumped Jarrad, beat him
around and to add insult to injury they tried to get
Crazy Train to attack him. But, he knew better and
shoved the offer back in their faces. The numbers
were stacked against them. Now when Pain and I
were informed of this injustice, we rushed to our
comrade’s aid and finished off their parade.

Running Wild
Pain and I went head to head against the $oF: Elliot
Forbes & Avalanche. It was time to show these
noobs who the strongest and most bad ass stable on
the roster was. After successfully defeating Pain in
rock/paper/scissors, I floored Avalanche with a
huge forearm, then proceeded to tag in Pain. (I
didn’t particularly want to waste my energy on
fighting Avalanche but I know that rock always
wins and Pain is less brain, more muscle).
Elliot thought it would be a good idea to try a test
of strength (how is this guy rich again???), but it
was all a plot to use dirty tactics...(maybe that’s
how he got rich). After Pain nailed Elliot with a
huge Death Valley bomb off the second rope, I,
like a camo blur hit Avalanche with my running
high knee and sent him sprawling to the outside as
Pain set up Elliot for a power bomb. I climbed to
the top and proceeded to Shining wizard Forbes’
head off into the Power bomb. It was truly
awesome, but these $oldiers of fortune are like

snakes in the grass, so as Pain stepped back
towards the ropes, Avalanche handcuffed him to
the top rope. Senior Referee Toshio rushed to his
aid.
Avalanche then slides in a chair to Elliot, who in
all the confusion hits me in the solar plexus, drops
it and drives my head into it with the “Pay Roll”
(it's a “twisting inverted reverse DDT”) 1, 2, WTF?
3? We lose...to the underhanded tactics of the
$oldiers of Fortune.

It was a hard fought battle but Slate came out the
victor, his arm was raised in the air and BAM Elliot
Forbes & Avalanche attacked...again from the rear.
So once again, like Power Man and Iron Fist, we
were there to back up our buddy Slate.
While driving back the $oF, it was time to send
them a message, Muscle Militia style. Avalanche
didn’t seem to get the picture and ran away like the
rest of the cowards...so we chased him down and
drove him though a TABLE!
Oh yeah! Assisted power bomb!!!

Collateral Damage
The show started with everyone’s favourite on the
SHWA roster Crazy Train!!!
Taking on Elliot Forbes, who gained the win this
round with more underhanded tactics. Now at the
end of the match, the $oF left, and Dan Steel comes
out and beats up Crazy (not much of a fight, the
guy already had been beaten up). He starts spewing
some words about not getting recognised enough to
get good matches...(try winning some matches
Dan) so, the title holder Slate comes out and
challenges him to a street fight old school style, KJ
Westside Pro Wrestling
Rollins (the newly appointed SHWA
commissioner) then grants Dan Steel his wish and
it’s on. The main event will be a street fight.
Jimmy Jamal Jenkins went on to face another fan
fave Jack Lariat!!! The dance off stole the first half
of the show with grinding krump moves from
Jimmy and a fancy hip thrust from Lariat.
Now, I had to face the so called dark prophet
Sean Ravage from the $oldiers of Fortune, which
was good cause I could show them that the Muscle
Militia should not be taken lightly. At the sound of
the bell I took him down and tried to choke the life
from him, but it seemed that this prophet had
something to say. Ravage brought the fight when I
laid on the pressure, as I had him in my sights, the
heaven door was about to open, until he countered
my DDT with the Dark Rites. (tilt-a-whirl power
slam)
1, 2...it took all my strength to kick out of it.
I was not going to lay down to the likes of Ravage
when there was so much at stake...
I summoned all I had and let it out with each blow
that knocked Ravage to the ropes and he fled to the
outside.
I followed, and took the fight to the $oldiers on the
outside. Ravage escaped back into the ring and I
followed again...Right into his trap!!!
Sean came at me the claw hammer of death
hitting my mid section, but such a blow was not
enough, he would have to try better and I returned
the favour, powering up, unleashing all I had in one
last elbow but exchanging blows with a man
holding a hammer did not end well. Two more
strikes and I dropped to my knees where he
finished the job with the “Fall from Grace”
(swinging reverse STO).
We had some guests all the way from SA,
Snakepit’s Ace Wilson and Max Profit who threw
out an open challenge to anyone on the roster.
“Mad” Mike Massive came to the call to defend the
pride of SHWA from the arrogance of Snakepit Pro
Wrestling. The match was rough and tumble and
ended up spilling outside the ring, but Massive has
had a bad run with evil managers, (he always gets
distracted). Turning his attention to Max, who was
wielding a steel chair, Mad Mike narrowly moved
out of shot and Ace Wilson was hit by his own
Manager (you can't trust ‘em!). So Mad Mike
returned the favour to Max and nailed him with a
MASSIVE Slam!!! But Ace was not out of the
game yet and came charging toward Massive…but
he was ready, with his Black Hole Slam, he took
the victory, and proved them Adel-aliens wrong.
The Street Fight was time for Dan Steel to prove
his worth. Dan fought well to begin with, but after
getting his head slammed into every table, going
against the champ seem to take a toll on him.
It was back and forth, flipping neck breakers,
package stunners, keyboards to hub caps this match
had it all…But Dan gave it his all by nailing the

Slam of Steel (Olympic Slam) and going for the
thumb tacks. Taking Slate to the Top rope, gave
Slate time to recover and he fought back, which
gave Jarrod the opportunity to use his “Blu Ray
Driver” (named as such cause it's better than a
DVD [Death Valley Driver]) into the thumb
tacks!!!!
He followed up with his huge Das Boot!!!
(Running yakuza Kick - the same move that almost
took out Chris Masters).But! Once again, the
$oldiers came to interrupt the festivity to beat down
Slate, but not on my watch! I would get my
vengeance for earlier in the night. I broke up the

One half of the voices of Explosive Pro Wrestling,
and the 2009 WPW Commentator of the Year,
Mean Dean Olsen brings WPW all the latest on the
EPW scene.
The Mean Scene is back, and WOW, what an
amazing event Explosive Pro Wrestling’s Road to
Glory 2 was. It was a fantastic show from start to
finish and every match delivered the awesome
wrestling action as you know, love and expect from
EPW. Now that Road to Glory and the riot den
match, which was above the level of brutality I was
expecting has passed has finished, I look forward to
the next show on the horizon, which is the biggest
of all Re-Awakening 9!
Now for this month’s mean scene, I’d like to look
backwards to Re-Awakenings past, and my
Westside Pro Wrestling
beat down and helped Slate to his feet to fend off
the assailants. The $oldiers of fortune had the
numbers again on their side again.
The $oldiers will get what is coming. At Super
Awesome Wrestling Show 6000, The Muscle
Militia will be at full strength. Pain will be back.
Jarrod doesn’t have a pesky title defence. And I
will continue to fight the good fight. We will have
retribution! And when we, the Muscle Militia, face
off against the $oldiers of Fortune it will be in a
trio tables elimination tag team match!!!!

THIS???
personal experience being involved in the
company, in what is the biggest night in W.A.
wrestling each year. If you have ever been to one of
EPW’s Re-Awakening’s you’ll know what I’m
talking about, nothing you see elsewhere will
compare, and if you haven’t, well I think you
should go and book yourself a ticket to what could
be the biggest and best R-A yet.
Let’s cast our minds back to the year 2007, that
was my first year with Explosive Pro Wrestling, I
had an amazing year and started commentating
with the company at Evolution that year due to the
Brad West, Jack Burbank feud. Finally it was time
for my first R-A experience, and what an amazing
one it was. When I first arrived at the Venville
Centre that afternoon, things were unlike the other
shows I had attended, there was something in the
air, it was true that this was a bigger, grander show,
and everyone involved knows it too. Just walking
around saying hello to people, it was a different
atmosphere, everyone was more excited, some
more nervous, everyone more focused and of
course the preparation involved is top notch. A lot
of praise should be put on the support crew for
EPW because on a day like these, they have their
work cut out for them, a lot more chairs are to be
put out, the entrance is bigger, everything is larger
and it can be rather stressful. Speaking of stress and
nerves, I was feeling it, my first time at the real big
show, I had put a tonne of pressure on myself to do
a good job of calling the show, as I usually do, but
I may have psyched myself stupid, but there were
plenty of the crew who greeted me with jokes and
such to ease my nerves, and a very kind person
saying hello and wishing me a “happy Re-
Awakening”.
The week of the show I was quite sick and had a

terrible cold I had been trying to shrug off, I think
it wasn’t too much of a hindrance but it added to
my pre-show jitters, but other people I’d see
backstage getting dressed or ready for their
matches were so intensely focus like the big event
situation fires them up to go above and beyond the
call of duty. After a lot of work and organising,
things were ready to go, the pre show had
happened and Lukey and I were waiting to be
called out by Callan, we were behind the entrance
way, then our names were called, and BANG!! A
massive pyro went off and I think I lost even more
hearing, although we were warned of it, we were
just excited for the show and forgot to block our
ears, then we walked out, and it was amazing. Now
just to stress it is a great feeling walking out in
front of an EPW crowd on any occasion, but this,
my first R-A, it was unlike anything I had felt
before, it was something I will never forget and
reflecting upon this makes me so happy and proud I
get to do what I do.

The show itself was amazing, great matches from
start to finish, Jack Burbank got his revenge against
Brad West for shaving his head, the team of the
Fighting Hellfish -Tyler Jacobs (then F.N.
Carnage) and CJL won the EPW Tag Team titles in
a crazy Tables match. One match I was really
looking forward to was Spike Steele vs. Devlin
Reeves in Spike Steele’s “House of Pain” match.
This was a hardcore outing and had weapons hung
all around the ring posts, there was plenty of
bloodshed and the bout ended with Spike putting
on his STF submission hold with a barbed wire bat
across the face of Devlin, a sight I’m sure no one
will forget.
Serious mat wrestling was also on display that
night with Davis Storm vs. Jimmy Payne in a two
out of three falls match, after a spectacular feud
during the year, this was the match to settle the
score and what a battle it was. Holds were traded,

vicious forearms, fists and kicks were thrown and
the intensity was off the chart. The match heated up
when it was one fall a piece and then Jimmy’s
(then) partner in crime Nate Dooley got involved in
the match and allowed Payne to get the final pin
fall for the win. As astounding as that match was
the main event was still to come.
Shane Haste had a fantastic 2007 but to end a
great year in style he had to defeat Bobby Marshall
to retain his EPW championship in the main event
of the biggest event of the year. This match didn’t
let anyone down, it was Explosive Pro Wrestling at
its finest, with both of these young competitors
laying it all out in the ring, it had hard hitting
offence, high flying insanity, and all the suspense a
great match could want. One moment I always
remember is when both Haste and Bobby went to
opposing turnbuckles and launched at each other in
the air then collided, clotheslining each other in
mid air. Words can’t do this justice it was like
something out of a kung fu movie, only right in
front of our faces. In the end Haste kept the title
after hitting his frog splash for the win, and
everyone in the Venville Centre went wild.

It was a great event, my voice held out, and I
think a did a good job of calling the show, that was
my first Re-Awakening, since then have called
every one since and am more comfortable in my
role at the commentary desk, but each year there is
that special buzz about on the day, I still get edgy
and have butterflies in the stomach, but it’s all part
of the fun, on the night where EPW’s year all
comes to a head there’s nowhere else I, or I’m sure
you would rather be, than witnessing the EPW Re-
Awakening, no matter what year it is, it will always
be the biggest show of the year, not to be missed. I
hope to see you all there this year.

Sue Sexton is a pioneer of the Western Australian
Pro Wrestling scene, even though not a lot a people
may know her name. She was born in Perth and
after seeing a ad on the side of the ring at a show at
Perry Lakes Stadium, learnt to wrestle at a men’s
club in the early 1970’s. Sue was trained by Ali
Musa the Turk, before moving to the United States
in 1975. Sexton went on to carve out a successful
career on the Independent scene, eventually being
awarded the LPWA Heavyweight Championship in
1990 and holding it for a year, before losing it to
Lady X on January 31, 1991. NWA/WCW for a
period recognized the LPWA champion as the
Women’s World Champion, and Sue made several
appearances for the promotion in late 1990 even
defending the title on Clash of the Champion XII -

Apart from her success in the States, where she
appeared on TV shows, like The Mike Douglas
Show alongside Sonny Bono of Sonny and Cher
fame, appearing in the 1989 film, American
Angels: Baptism of Blood, as well as getting to
know some of the biggest names in the wrestling
world, such as Andre the Giant and Greg “The
Hammer” Valentine. Sexton also wrestled in Japan
in the mid 1970’s for All Japan, getting a shot at
the Women’s title.
After having a 20+ year career, Sue retired from
wrestling in 1996 and currently lives in Los
Angeles and is a pro wrestling trainer, as well as
having an acting and writing career.

NHPW Family
With NHPW Final Chapter fast approaching I am
truly humbled by the talent that will be utilised for
it. I have many of the talents coming to purely say
goodbye and I really want to thank them all for
being a part of this…my final show.
November will be special to me - I have some of
my closest friends here with me to say good bye.
Can you ever really say Goodbye completely? No,
if my health was back tomorrow I would be kicking
ass in NHPW again. For me it will be a time to
reflect as I will not be in an Australian ring for a
long, long time.
For me though I am thankful and blessed to have
a very tight knit unit that legitimately look out for
me and each other. I am proud to have Young guns
in guys like Percy T, Tama Williams, David Hawk,
Kabel, Hallmark and Benji the Clown co-existing
with solid more experienced workers such as
Cannonball, Tapu, NC Viper, Blake Mitchell and
so many of the core guys.
It’s easy for me to rant about Family like others
do, but I’ve been in a social arena with all of them
and they honestly are a great bunch of guys. They
rib each other, joke a lot, dick punch (don’t ask)
and get along just like I was used to when I first
started out at World Xtreme Wrestling in
Allentown, PA. We were Family under Afa, Samu
and the Trainers and that’s exactly what I have
always wanted to be a part of since I have been
back. I hand it to EPW – they are very, very close
as well and I was happy to be a part of their
company for the short time I was. This is different
Westside Pro Wrestling
from EPW but still positive in a different
manner - no better just different.
They have done well by being respectful to our
guests when they are here which has been great. I
appreciate the fact the guys sit down and listen to
the Internationals who teach them lesson that could
only be learnt if they went to America – which let’s
face it most will not go unfortunately. Case in point
they trained with Steve Corino and no disrespectful
questions were asked and Steve tells me it was a
good seminar that he would love to teach more
again. When they trained with Sonjay Dutt - they
thought like Steve it would be more theory than
physical. Sonjay drilled them big time and they
enjoyed it immensely as did Sonjay. The NHPW
roster may not be there yet as in standard - but it’s
learning really fast and again I am thankful they
listen.

As for the girls - IndyGurlz (Australia) is in its
infancy really but the matches so far, have been
truly awesome. To have girls who have fighting
spirit and are true students of pro wrestling not
Diva’s is something new in WA but I hope will be
around for a long time to come. With Bombshell
Bo being IndyGurlz (Australia) Champion it gives
a fresh new face a chance to take on some of the
best in the world. Bo has been lucky enough to
train with TNT for AWF Sydney (one of the best
schools in Australia) as well as one of MANY from
Australia to train with Lance Storm in Canada. I
like the way she fights and I am sure will prove a
worthy Champion. The two I actually consider gifts
through friendships - Kellie Skater and Jessie
McKay. To look at them when we first met, I
thought man they look to shy, but as I have written
before, their first match tore the house down
literally. Jessie is trained through Ryan Eagles and
current Shimmer World Champion, Madison
Eagles. From PWA they both have done and
immense job in making Jessie the all rounder she is

today. I am truly thankful they allow her to show
WA what a deadly combination of model looks and
Women’s Wrestling as an Art can be. Skater is out
of Melbourne as she so proudly speaks out but can
back it up no doubt. She is energy and Power added
in with pure Force of Will. Skater is not only
making a name for herself here but Worldwide.
Very excited to see where both of them end up in
their careers because anyone with an eye for
wrestling can see they have “IT”.
Backing that up are the likes of veteran Michelle,
who is happily travelling Australia and making
waves, which I am happy for her. She is a good
person in the locker room and a good wrestler
developing as well.
Soon a couple of the girl students from my
NHPW Slaughterhouse Training will be making
their debuts as well so it’s quickly growing from
strength to strength.
All in all I cannot wait to draw the curtain on Final Photo: Super Luchas
Chapter in November - now you probably all know that I am truly happy with how NHPW is and the
