Unísono: Dios de luz, te pedimos perdón por hablar demasiado y por
hacer poco. Te pedimos perdón por aquellas veces en que hemos
causado conflictos, divisiones, y dolores innecesarios a otras
personas.

Te confesamos que nos enojamos con la gente en nuestros hogares,

en la iglesia, y en nuestros trabajos.
Perdónanos por echarles la culpa a otras personas, mientras
creemos firmemente en nuestras propias opiniones.

Danos la conciencia para ver a todas aquellas personas que son

diferentes a nosotros/as, a aquellas cuyas costumbres y hábitos
hacen que nos pongamos a la defensiva o nos sintamos
incómodos/as. Abre nuestras mentes y nuestros corazones para que
podamos ser los hijos e hijas amorosos/as que tú has creado y que
nos has llamado a ser. En el nombre de Cristo. Amén.

ORACIÓN DEL PUEBLO (MGV)

Permite Dios Santo, que cuando nos llames, podamos decir «presente».
Permite Todopoderoso, que cuando haya que predicar tu mensaje, no callemos.
Permite Redentor, que cuando haya que unirnos, podamos enfocarnos en lo que
nos hace grupo y no en lo que nos divide.
Permite Dios Pastor, que cuando nos sintamos en soledad, nos invada el
sentimiento que solo da tu Espíritu de que nos haces constante compañía.
Permite Palabra de vida, que tu mensaje en nosotros/as, sea claro y poderoso,
aunque la gente que nos rodea lo cuestione y piense que vivimos en locura.
Permite Dios de Pacto, que cuando escuchemos tu voz, dejemos la vida rutinaria
y cómoda para seguirte.
Permite Dios Justo, que el mundo entero se revista del mensaje de la cruz, para
que tu reino se convierta en una realidad cada día.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Call to Worship, Volume 38.1, 2004-2005, p. 100)

All: God of light, we ask forgiveness for talking too much and doing
too little. We ask forgiveness for those times when we’ve caused
conflict, divisiveness, and needless pain to others.
We confess we get angry at people at home,
at church, at our jobs.
Forgive us for blaming others while firmly believing
in our own opinion.
Grant us awareness of all those different that we are, those whose
customs and habits make us defensive and uncomfortable. Open our
minds and hearts to be the loving children you have created and
called us to be. In the name of Christ, Amen.
