See: a girl, squares, water with foam, bubbles and a sponge.

SUBJECTIVE:
Meaning: relax in a bath and happily because the girl is smiling.

The positive shapes are the objects that take space on a picture (they have colour).

picture:

. Artist: Henri Matisse

. Type of image: representation because looks a lot like its subject.

. Shape: Open shape because it isn´t clear to distinguish the contour of the
objects in the picture and positive because the objects in the picture take
space (they have colour).

. Make an analysis (objective and subjective):


OBJECTIVE: a beach, water with waves and a cliff.
SUBJECTIVE: happily because it is a beautiful landscape and tranquility and
calm because you hear the ocean waves

UNIT-2

1.-What is a dot? How can it affect a space? Give three examples

The dot is the smallest element of an image. A dot on a surface or a piece of a paper
provides a focal point that creates tension in which we focus on. It can be order,
instability, heavier etc.
2.-Look for a picture in the links where you can find lines used for shading.
(Write down the web page where you found it)

3.- What are natural textures? Give two examples.

Are the visual and tactile quality of the natural surfaces. For example: mountain
rocks, fruit peels…

4.- What is a plane? Name the different types of planes.

The plain is an expressive element that we use to draw pictures. Depending on the
shape there are 2 types: geometric figure or plane (have a regular shape) and organic
figures or planes (have an irregular shape).
5.- Look for Henri Matisse, "The red table"1908 in the links and answer:

o What type of shapes can you see? (Squares?....): squares, rectangles,


circles, ovals…

o Copy and paste at least three different textures you find in the picture.

Natural textures (leaves), artificial textures (the table, the book, the chair,
pictures…)
