Nizhny Novgorod
The Lord said to Moses, “Why do
you cry to me? Tell the people of
Israel to go forward. 16Lift up your
staff, and stretch out your hand over
the sea and divide it, that the people
of Israel may go through the sea on
dry ground. Ex 14:15
We all stand at the edge of a new
year, a new season and wonder what
lies ahead in our life. Do things
appear impossible or frightening? He
urges us not to stand still and cry out
to Him, but to go forward in faith
because the God we serve not only
goes before us, but He makes the
way open up through the otherwise
impossible circumstances. I pray that
each one of us would go forth boldly
in faith believing in the power of the
gospel that came to us in the person
of Jesus Christ.
Let us have this attitude, forgetting
what lies behind and straining
forward to what lies ahead (Phil
3:13) Trust Him and be eager for
what He has for you!

Greetings for the New Year!
December Travel & Ministry
We are back in Russia after
having spent 2 1/2 months
traveling the United States.
We visited and spoke in 8
different states, 10 churches,
attended 3 Foursquare
District Conferences, and
participated in a week of
missionary training in Los
Angeles.
On Sunday December 5
Karen spoke at our home
church, Hope Chapel, in
Nashua, New Hampshire. It
was a joy to be with two of our
children, their spouses and 8
of our grandchildren that
morning.

On Sunday December 12 we
shared together at South
River Community Church in
Marshfield, MA. Pastors
David and Carol McGee lead
this church. We first met
Dave and Carol while
attending the Foursquare
Northeast District Conference
in New Jersey in October.
Dave had introduced himself
to us and told us that he and
his family had been
missionaries to Izhevsk,
Russia for almost 3 years.
Dave was interested in our
ministry and invited us to
come and speak at the
church. It was a good
morning for us as we shared
with this congregation about
the work in Russia and the
great things we see
happening there. We trust
that we have begun a long
friendship with this
congregation and will see
some of them visit Russia in
the future as part of a short
term team.

Air travel in Europe was in chaos because of
heavy snowfall, but after only a two and a half
hour delay we had an uneventful second leg of
the trip arriving in Nizhny Novgorod at 1:00 AM
local time on Sunday morning. Over the next
24 hours we both became ill and spent nearly a
week just sleeping 12-18 hours a day due to
the effects of the illness combined with jet lag.
