Executive Summary

Introduction

Our business is about bread selling in MMU and around MMU. Our selling is 3 days per
week and normally 2 to 3 hours per day.

What make us special?

The most special for business is we earn maximum profit in the finite time. For whole
business selling process, we get about RM 303 profits. Apparently our profits are not
considered high but actually our profits are high after considered the time value. With 15
days and 2 hours per day selling, we earn RM303 in 30 hours and about RM10 per hour.
If compared other groups which selling 5 days per week, total 30 days in 6 weeks and
everyday 5 hours and get a RM1000 profits, they only get RM 6 per hour.

Through this, we can make sure our business won’t affect our study.

Process/experiences

Before we start up the business, we have meet with the lady boss of Uncle Sam bakery
and discuss with her about the details of our business, the prices of supply, and some of
the terms to corporate.

The first day we are selling, we went to the bakery to take the supply from the lady boss
with budget RM53 and then we sell it in campus and around campus. We separate the 4
persons into 2 teams. The first team is selling in MMU and the second team selling
around MMU. We just sell it around and manage to finish it within 2 or 3 hours for
totally 38 breads. Thus we gain RM15.90 profits on 1st day and we had step up the
amount of the bread in the second day and continue the same process in the coming time.

For experience we learn from this business is our selling skills and market knowledge are
getting better.
Problem / Issues in Conducting Problem

Three main problems we had face that is:

-Product is too commonly

-Time management

-Unable sell out all the bread

Recommendation

1. Increase the product lines of offering for sale several related products comprise
related products of various sizes, types, colors, qualities, or prices to satisfy all
customers’ needs.
2. Change a new packaging method to attract more customers.
3. Improve in internal management and all give corporation to this business.

Learning

Through this business assignment, we learn that how a business works. It starts with
vision, mission and a business objective for the company these methods are related to a
company vital.

Secondly, we have learned to be giving corporation to each other among group and
teamwork to lets our business successful.

Lastly, we had learned about selling skills, market knowledge and to deal a business with
other.
Introduction

First of all, our business is about bread selling in MMU and around MMU. We sent 3 to 4
persons to sell in MMU and around MMU. Our selling is 3 days per week and normally 2
to 3 hours per day.

The products we selling are pizza bread for RM2, hotdog bread for RM1, nugget bread
for RM1, cheese bread for RM1.50 and tuna bread for RM1.50

What make us special? ( In term of benefits)

For whole business selling process, we get about RM 303 profits. The profits are not
considered high. However, we get the internal benefits – time.

Actually our profits are high after considered the time value. With 16 days and 2 hours
per day selling, we earn 303 in 32 hours and about RM10 per hour. If compared other
groups which selling 5 days per week, total 30 days in 6 weeks and everyday 5 hours and
get a 1000 profits, they only get RM6 per hour.

As student, we only do this for part time and we need to go classes, do assignments, have
tests, and do revisions. But anyway, we make sure this won’t affect our study and manage
to earn profits for us by using this time saving strategy. At the same time we earn profits,
we also save time and manage to score in our study.

Thus, the benefits we get actually are more than other groups.

What make us special? ( In term of products and services)

Breads is consider a common products for everyone. So, how we make our breads special?

First, we sell our breads with acceptable prices. Second, we get the supply from the
nearer bakery shop in morning and sold out all within 1 to 2 hours to make sure it is fresh
and tasty.

How we make sure that we able to sold out all breads within 1 to 2 hours? This is because
our handsome and pretty salespersons, for sure, with good services and big smiles. 
Process/experiences

Before we start up the business, we have meet with the lady boss of Uncle Sam bakery
and discuss with her about the details of our business, the prices of supply, and some of
the terms to corporate.

Why we choose Uncle Sam Bakery? This is because their breads are economy and tasty.
One of our members is the loyal customer of this bakery so we choose this bakery as our
supplier introduce by her.

We are selling on these days: 19,20,21 July and ,2,3,4,5,9,10,11,16,17,19,23,24,25


August.

The first day we are selling, we went to the bakery to take the supply from the lady boss
with budget RM53 and then we sell it in campus and around campus. We separate the 4
persons into 2 teams. The first team is selling in MMU and the second team selling
around MMU. We just sell it around and manage to finish it within 2 or 3 hours for
totally 52 breads.

Thus we gain RM15.90 profits on 1st day and the same process continue on 2nd day.

Overall, the business goes smoothly. We manage to corporate well and sold out all the
breads everyday within 2 or 3 hours.

Experience: make selling easier and faster

After few days of selling, we manage to finish our breads faster, about 2 hour or less than
and our selling success ratio are increasing, 1 out of 5 of the target will buy with us.

This is because our selling skills and market knowledge are getting better.

Overall, the selling process is fun and this is the 1st experience for many in our group in
doing the direct selling.

A very good try and we learnt a lot.

Problem / Issues in Conducting Problem

Conducting a business is not easy and sometimes we face some difficulties or problems
while the business is in the process. In our group, we have faced some of the problems
while conducting the business and we have received a good lesson and knowledge while
we are conducting the business.

When we first start our business, we actually found that we lack of product diversity.
However, it is prevalent and as a result similar products are over-crowding the market.
Some micro enterprises shift from one product to another, and in doing so, capture
better market opportunities. Nevertheless, as soon as the market has established itself,
a multitude of further micro enterprises start off in the same business and this causes
the selling price to fall immediately. Due to this problem, our business only offer a
few types of bread and customer do not feel satisfied and some of them could not get
what they want.

The second problem that we actually face is about internal management problem.
Because of our group member own different schedules for classes and other activities, so
due to this clash of time, sometimes we cannot form a discussion for some meeting and
information is insufficient for some member due to their absence of meeting. This
problem basically will bring a negative impact to team such as some of them team
member was not aware about their job scope and next meeting time. Can’t deny it, due to
this problem, some argument and disagreement among member had occurred and it
actually brings a direct impact to our business.

The third problem we met is about exceeding bread. We ordered a certain amount of
breads from the supplier and we have to sell all of it in a morning time. Sometimes we
are not managed to sell out all of the breads and exceeding breads problem are occur.
This problem can actually cause a wasted in our products and the cost will become higher
which will reduce our profit. In order to solve this problem, we will actually sell these
breads to our member and their family problem.
Last but not least, any business will face some different problems on certain situation.
One’s should learn to be more proactive to overcome these problems instead of overcome
by the problem.

Recommendation

Our shop which is named as Bread Kingdom has been set up on July and we have started
our business since end of July. Through 5 weeks selling experience, we have actually
found that there are still a lot of spaces for us to improve our business and increase our
sales. Same as other business, we start our business from mobile selling to individual and
of course, the profit will be less due to high cost. In order to improve our business and
make it to be better, there are some recommendations for our business.

For your information, our business is currently selling a few types of breads which are
hot dog bread, nugget bread, Tuna bread and etc. I suggest that Bread Kingdom could
increase the product lines. Product lines is the marketing strategy of offering for sale
several related products. A line can comprise related products of various sizes, types,
colors, qualities, or prices. In other words, I suggest that our business could sell various
types of breads such as kaya bread or egg tarts to satisfy all customers’ needs. Through
this way, I believe our business will be able to attract more consumers to consume our
product.

The second recommendation for our business is about packaging method. Rather than
using plastic as a packaging method, I suggest that we should change a new packaging
method to replace plastic because plastic bag is actually too common and nothing special
for that. A new packaging method can be consider to use in order to attract more
customer because packaging basically play an important role to stimulus sales. Last but
not least, 100 plus company has become a successful company in this industry. But we
can’t deny it; any company has space to make an improvement. I believe the company
can reach a higher level through some improvement for some problem.
For the third problem that we conduct, we can clearly see that our business do not have a
very good internal management. Through this, I suggest that a clear message and
statement should deliver to every member in the team about their responsible and their
job. When the members are get ready, they can play their role very well and of course,
they will give the best service to the customer. If a company is not able to manage well
of its employee, it is impossible for the customer to get the best and quality from the
company. Some jobs have been done through corporation among group member so the
relationship among group is an important part too.

Last but not least, from recommendation above, we can fully see that there are still a lot
of spaces for our business to improve in order to make it better. Everyone in the group
play an important role in different position. I believe this business will be more
successful if everyone is giving fully corporation to this business.
Learning

Every assignment inspire us a lot especially our mind. Due to this assignment, we started
a small business by selling bread since 2 months ago and this business has been end lately.
Business objectives are a way for an organization to define its goals and direction. A
company uses a combined strategy at every level of its operation to achieve its objective.
It determines how a company will allocate its resources and what strengths, weaknesses
and opportunities it may have. A business objective is usually not altered once
implemented, setting a clear course for the organization.

Through this business assignment, we learn that how a business works. It starts with
vision and mission for the company. A business objective has to set to form a clear
statement about the business. In other words, a business objective is essentially a
consideration of what future course an organization intends to take. In our business, we
have learnt to determine what its business does, who its customers are and how it intends
to excel in its field. In the first place, after analysis the opportunity and threats in this
market, we decided to start a business by selling bread as breakfast to consumer because
we found that actually there are a lot of student skips their breakfast before they go to
school. This is one of the advantages of this business and it can be a business chance for
us.

Secondly, we have learned to be giving corporation to each other among group and
teamwork. To set up a business, a lot of stages must be going through and a lot of job
must be done. Some of the job cannot be accomplished by alone and the entire member
in the group must corporate to accomplish the entire task. With a strong basic team and a
strong leadership, the member will be able to do their best to play their roles well. In our
business, leader get the supply of bread and some of the member in charge of selling
bread while some other in charge as a cashier. Everyone have to corporate with each
other in order to get a good result.

Besides from these, we also learnt to be more mature and calm when dealing with some
problem. As you all know, any business or any matters will face problems, one’s should
learn to deal with problem and come out with a best solution without bringing any harm
to any parties. At first day of our business, we did not manage to sell all the bread within
the time that we set, some of us started to be panic. After a few times with facing same
problem, we have come out with a good solution and the member among team had been
trained to be more mature and calm when facing a problem. When we face a problem
among team, a discussion group must be form and everyone among the group state out
their own opinions and discussion will start until come out with the best solution.

Last but not least, through this business assignment, we have learn a lot of things
especially how to deal with problems and communication between member.
