1 OPENING OF THE MEETING AND WELCOME

The Vice President (Competitions) (Mr Leedham) opened the meeting at 2:01pm this day at the Student
Representative Council Building, University of Sydney, New South Wales.

2 APOLOGIES

The Vice President (Competitions) informed the Committee that the Marketing Director (Mr Maitland)
will be absent from the meeting due to illness.

3 EXECUTIVE STATEMENT – NATIONAL COUNCIL DECISION REGARDING THE PEREZ

DE CUELLAR SHIELD

The Vice President (Competitions) made an Executive Statement regarding the recent National Council
decision to abolish the Perez de Cuellar Security Council Competition and replace it with a New South
Wales Evatt Competition.

4 EXECUTIVE STATEMENT – EVATT 2011 ROUNDS

The Vice President (Competitions) made an Executive Statement regarding the upcoming rounds of the
Evatt Security Council Competition 2011.

The Vice President answered questions from Mr Phillis during the Executive Statement.

The Deputy Convenor (Miss Noble), by leave, completed an online application for State Conference
Facilitator Training.

5 EXECUTIVE STATEMENT – MATTERS RELATING TO CONTENT

The Content Director (Mr Phillis) made a brief Executive Statement regarding the content of resolutions
and related matters.

6 EXECUTIVE STATEMENT – JUDGING PANEL

The Vice President made a brief Executive Statement regarding the arrangements of the judging of Evatt
2011.

The Vice President answered questions from the Content Director.

7 SUSPENSION OF MEETING

The meeting was suspended from 2:44pm to 3:23pm to enable Committee Members to do their allocated
tasks.

8 PRESIDENT’S STATEMENT – EXPECTATIONS OF THE EVATT COMMITTEE

The President of the Division (Mr Matthews) made a quick statement regarding his expectations for the
Committee.

9 EXECUTIVE ANNOUNCEMENT – RESIGNATION OF THE PREMIER OF TASMANIA

The Director, Competitions Logistics (Mr Travers) informed the Committee that he had been informed of
the resignation of the Hon. D.J. Bartlett MP as Premier, and Minister for Innovation, Science and
Technology of the State of Tasmania.

10 SUSPENSION OF MEETING

The meeting was again suspended at 3:45pm to enable Committee Members to do their allocated tasks.

11 CLOSE OF MEETING

The Committee agreed to close the formalities of the meeting at 3:45pm to enable the Committee to
continue individual allocated roles.

12 ATTENDANCE

The following Members were present (at some stage during the meeting): Mr Leedham (Vice-President),
Miss Noble (Deputy Convenor), Mr Travers (Director, Competitions Logistics), Mr Phillis (Content
Director), and Mr Matthews (President of UNYA NSW).
