A. Motivation

Before reading the essay “ Forgive: A Decision of The Heart” by


Marilyn Gustin, motivation questions will be asked:

C.1 Vocabulary - Unlock the meaning of the words

• Pilgrim - someone who journeys in foreign lands [believer,

• Sabotage - a deliberate act of destruction or disruption in

• Theologian - Someone who is learned in theology or who

Like phrases, subordinate clauses can perform the function of the various
parts of speech such as nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. A subordinate clause
which functions as a noun is called a noun clause and can serve as a:

• Subject
• Direct Object
• Indirect Object
• Predicate Nominative
• Object of a Preposition
• Object of the Verbals
• Object Complement
• Appositive to a Subject or Object
E. Drill by Dyad. Let the Students identify the noun clause
markers from the examples above and name the function of the
noun clause in the sentence.
