nbpemreq
The nbpemreq command enables a user to determine
which jobs are coming due in the near future, and
schedule, resume, and suspend a job.

-console This option enables you to start NetBackup in
console mode.
-predict This option provides feedback by showing what
jobs are scheduled to run in the near future.
-resume Resumes a job specified by the variable
schedule.
-suspend Suspends a job specified by the variable
schedule.
-tables
-terminate This option enables you to stop the nbpemreq.
nbpushdata
The nbpushdata command moves data from the NetBackup 6.0
current database files to the EMM database. This
command is run after the upgrade installation is
complete. Data will be moved to the EMM database Instant Reference
only when nbpushdata is run for a host that has
been upgraded to NetBackup 6.0.

1. The Global Device Database Host.
2. Master servers.
3. Volume Database host(s) (ndpushdata -add or
nbpushdata -add_5x_vmhost). After running
nbpushdata for all Volume Database hosts, run
nbpushdata -modify_5x_host on each master
server if you intend to leave any media servers at a
NetBackup 5.x version level.
4. Any remaining media servers (optional)

nbdbms_start_server
nbdbms_start_server – A daemon that starts and
stops a server.

-stop
Causes the server to shutdown.
-stat
Returns a status that indicates if the server is up or
down. A zero (0) indicates the server is active (up).
-f
Causes a forced shutdown of the server
irrespective of active connections.
This option unloads the schema only - no data is
unloaded. This option is only applicable when used
with the -stop option.
-h
This option displays the usage information.

nbdb_admin
The nbdb_admin command is used to start or stop the
NetBackup or the BMR database.
/usr/openv/db/bin/nbdb_admin -dba
new_password/usr/openv/db/bin/nbdb_admin

-dba new_password
Enbles you to change the default password, nbusql, for
the NBDB and BMRDB databases for all DBA and
application accounts.
-start|stop
Starts or stops the NBDB database.
-start|stop BMRDB
Starts or stops the BMRDB database.
nbdb_backup
The nbdb_backup command enables the user to make
either an online or offline backup of the ASA database
files to a file system directory.

-offline |-online
Enables either an offline or online backup of the ASA
database files.
destination_directory
Used to identify the directory where the backup will be
stored.
nbdb_move
The nbdb_move command can be used to move the
database files from the default location to a customer-
specified directory to separate data and improve
performance.

Used to move data from database files to customer-
specified directories designated by data_directory.
-index index_directory
Used to identify the directory of the index log.

Used to identify the transaction log directory.
nbdb_ping
The nbdb_ping command is used to check and
display the status of the NetBackup database.
Entering the command with no options displays the
status of the NetBackup database.

Displays the status of the BMRDB database.
nbdb_restore
The recommended method for protection of the
Sybase ASA NBDB and BMRDB databases is
through the Catalog Backup interfaces. After a copy
of the databases in a directory has been made, you
are able to recover the databases using this
command.

-recover source_directory
This option enables you to recover a database that
has been copied as part of a catalog backup
procedure.
nbdb_unload
The nbdb_unload command unloads the specified
database. By default the NBDB database is
unloaded. The other value for -dbn includes, BMRDB
for the Bare Metal Restore database.

To unload the NBDB database (including all of EMM),

nbdb_upgrade
The nbdb_upgrade command will attempt to upgrade
the running database schema to the version of the
installed executables. The <database name> is a
special name to tell nbdb_upgrade which database to
upgrade. It can be one of the following,
NBDB, this refers to the NetBackup database
(including EMM). BMRDB, the bare metal restore
database. The default is NBDB.
