Sunday, November 19, is the day we will celebrate our journey on this 50-Day Adventure!

No, not the completion of it, but progress in it. And we’ll do so by hearing from various
Lighthouses, seeing some of your homemade (and humorous) video clips, giving in our
annual Celebration Offering, and launching Project 318 – “Pick a Park/Select a School.”
And that is this week’s challenge – to prepare your group thoroughly for Celebration
Sunday and Project 318.

As you talk about community outreach this week, emphasize Project 318. Do all you can

lighthouse challenge
to sign up for Project 318 on November 19 – you’ll need every bit of that time to make the
impact God intends for you to have. Who knows what God could do if we all just did a little
bit to reach out honestly to the community in which we live and to the people with whom we
interact.

Project 318: Pick a Park/Select a School

Project 318 is FFC’s annual Christmas service endeavor that reaches out all over the city
of Ankeny. This year we are encouraging every Lighthouse to either “Pick a Park” or “Select
a School.” Then, sometime between Thanksgiving and the new year, bless that school or
city park by either painting the playground, redoing some landscaping, planting needed
shrubs/bushes, constructing needed benches, fixing broken sinks or toilets, repairing
uneven sidewalks, etc. – there’s always a list a mile long of things that can be done,
weather permitting. So, select your school or pick your park, find out what the needs are,
pull together your resources, and complete the task. That’s what’s ahead as we wrap up
our 50-Day Adventure and move into the mainstream of life as a devoted follower of Jesus!

Sign ups for Project 318 begin November 19, and a complete list of schools and parks is
below (or by visiting our Web site, www.firstfamilyministries.com, and clicking on Project
318). Lighthouses may come together if they wish to work on a specific school or park, or
they may adopt one solely for their group.
