Where is the “Sea Of Glass” today?

Christians surely believe that all scripture is the inspired Word of God and can be trusted.
The sacred writings themselves verify this to be true…
John 17:17: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
2Timothy 3:16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Many today have the zeal to want to know God, but fail to see the true picture of what the Word
of God is painting. Paul understood this when he wrote…
Romans 10:2: For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

But why is that? Why do some seem to understand scriptures while it’s a mystery to others?
What is missing in those who do not seem to understand regardless of how intelligent they are?
And why can some understand even if they are not highly educated?

Luke quotes Jesus explaining it this way…

Luke 8:10: And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to
others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
Luke 10:21: In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and
earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes:
even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

The Old Testament puts it this way…

Psalms:19:7: The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure,
making wise the simple.

How does the Father reveal His hidden mysteries?

Here is the ingredient that makes the whole difference in whether you can understand the Word
of God or not.
1Corinthians 2:10: But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth
all things, yea, the deep things of God .

We receive God’s Holy Spirit with the laying on of hands after baptism, but what does God want
us to do with this precious gift…
2Timothy 1:6: Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee
by the putting on of my hands.

In 2nd Peter, we see that the prophets were moved by the Spirit of God in order to prophecy, and
they only wrote down what the Spirit revealed to them. In the same way, the only way to
understand the Word of God is by having the Holy Spirit of God reveal it to us…
2Peter 1:20-21: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were
moved by the Holy Spirit.
1Co:2:13: Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the
Holy Spirit teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. M't:10:20: For it is not ye that speak,
but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

We are told to work out our own salvation (Philippians 2:12) and God wants us to search out the
scriptures in order to prove all things. (1Thessalonians 5:21) That’s how we invest the talent given to
us. God wants each of His called out ones to search the scriptures and to be led by His Holy
Spirit in order to better understand His Word and thereby increase tenfold or a hundredfold in
knowledge. The more we learn, the greater our faith.

It is those who allow the Spirit of God to lead them that are the sons of God...
Romans 8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

God wants us to increase in the knowledge of what He is working out here on earth…
Colossians 1:10: That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good
work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
2Peter 3:18: But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be
glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Since the source of right knowledge for those who trust the Word of God is the inspired
scriptures, then what does the bible reveal about the “sea of glass” that has been missed by most
everyone?

The sea of glass was created from the time of creation and is still somewhere in the dark clouds
surrounding our earth and is also where God’s earthly throne is. Even Eliphaz the Temanite,
Job’s friend, knew this when he said…
Job:22:13: And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?

This area where the clouds are is called the first heaven. More than one heaven was created…
Genesis 2:1: Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

Here are seven scriptures from the Old Testament that allude to the truth that God’s temporary
throne is in the clouds that float in the circuit of heaven around the earth. I know that there are
many more scriptures that reveal this as God does not want this to be a mystery to His people…
1. Exodus 16:10: And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the
children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD
appeared in the cloud.
2. Exodus 24:16: And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it
six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
3. Exodus 19:9: And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, ...
4. Job 37:21: And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds:
5. Psalms:18:11: He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark
waters and thick clouds of the skies.
6. Job 22:14: Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit
of heaven.
7. Psalms:57:10: For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.
Here are seven from the New Testament …

1. Mark 9:7: And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud,
saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
2. Luke 21:27: And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great
glory.
3. Acts 1:9: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a
cloud received him out of their sight.
4. 1Thessalonian 4:17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
5. Revelation 1:7: Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him…
6. Revelation 10:1: And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a
cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as
pillars of fire:
7. Revelation 11:12: And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up
hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

The reason God dwells in a thick dark cloud should be obvious… His Glory would overwhelm
humanity since no man can look at God’s face in all of it’s glory and live...
Exodus 33:20: And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

In the process of time, "this sea of glass like unto crystal" has been seen by many others, and
you need to understand this truth that this is what they were observing. When Ezekiel was given
a vision of the sea of glass and of God’s throne and He who sat on it this is how he described it.
Ezekiel 1:25-28: And there was a voice from the firmament [this “firmament” was the sea of glass] that was over
their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings. 26 And above the firmament [on that sea of glass
(Revelation 4:6)] that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire
stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
27
And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the
appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it
were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. 28 As the appearance of the bow that is
in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the
appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I
heard a voice of one that spoke.
We know that this man he was describing was our Lord Jesus Christ, the God of Israel. You can
see that the throne and the Lord of the Old Testament (who was Jesus) were seen by Ezekiel and
the firmament he described was the sea of glass that Revelation 4:6 tells us was before the throne
of God and where the saints will be standing on after the first resurrection.

John also described this same Son of man (Jesus Christ) when he saw Him in a vision and was
told to write down what he saw and to send it to the seven churches …
Revelation 1:13-15: And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed
with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. 14 His head and his hairs
were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15 And his feet like unto
fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

This “sea of glass” is where the resurrected saints will stand after they are raised to meet Christ
in the air and as you now know this very same “sea of glass” happens to be before God’s throne.
Revelation 4:2: And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, (this is the
first heaven in the clouds) and one sat on the throne. ...
Revelation 4:6: And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: ...
Revelation 15:2: And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the
victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand
on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

Notice also that the sea of glass was “like unto crystal”, and crystal is clear, so to Aaron, Nadab,
and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel it appeared under His feet (meaning the God of Israel was
standing on it) as a paved work of a sapphire stone and it was clear as crystal…
Exodus 24:10: And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of
a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

In John 14:3, Jesus said "where I am, there ye may be also". So in Jesus' own words, at the
resurrection of the saints, we are to be where He presently is and we know that Jesus is presently
sitting on His throne and you now know where His throne is located.

The saints will rule from their mansions on the sea of glass, since that is where Christ is
preparing these for us…
John 14:2-3: In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you
unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Some churches teach that “mansions” are “positions”, however, the Greek makes it plain that it
is a residence like a mansion … mon-ay' … that is, residence (the act or the place): - abode,
mansion. I believe that these are the mansions the saints will be living in when they are with
Christ ruling the earth during the millennium.

This throne and the sea of glass are all in the first heaven which is where the clouds are. It
should also now be evident that God presently chooses to stay in the dark clouds so that we
cannot see Him unless He chooses to open up the dark clouds where His throne and the sea of
glass are presently located which of course He did for Ezekiel.
Ezekiel 1:4: And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire
infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out
of the midst of the fire.
Ezekiel 1:22: And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the
colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.

The word "terrible" in the old English would be better translated today as "awesome". And this
says that this awesome crystal is stretched forth... this is a different way of describing the sea of
glass. The four living creatures came down from this awesome crystal that was stretched out
above them.

Remember that during the Exodus, it was the Lord that led the Israelites out of Egypt. All they
had to do is follow the cloud. There is constant flash lightning going on in this cloud, causing
enough light to appear to the Israelites as a pillar of fire to give them light by night. If you have
ever experienced being outside at night when there is constant flash lightning going on, you will
have experienced what the Israelites underwent…
Exodus 13:21: And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the
way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
Psalms:97:4: His lightnings enlightened the world:

Exodus tells us that the sapphire stone appeared clear. This is either on the sea of glass or simply
another way of describing the sea of glass. This was when Moses was about to go up to the top
of Mont Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments from God…
Exodus 24:9-10: Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of
Israel: 10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a
sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

By now, it should be plain to you that this is talking about the same sea of glass mentioned in
Revelation. The bible tells us that you will only understand completely by studying the Word of
God and putting scriptures together to get the clear picture…
Isaiah 28:10: For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line;
here a little, and there a little:

It was the God of Israel that was standing on this sea of glass and the 70 elders along with
Moses, Aaron, Nadab and Abihu all saw this clearly. Afterwards, Moses went up and entered the
thick cloud which had by now covered the entire top of the mountain and walked on this sea of
glass to meet with the God of Israel. Notice especially Exodus 34:5 below...
Exodus 24:15: And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.
Exodus 24:18: And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses
was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
Exodus 34:5: And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the
name of the LORD.

The truth about the location of God’s throne and the sea of glass has been before us all of the
years of our calling, yet some still do not see this as if some cloud in their minds is still hiding
this truth. It’s up to you to now chose to believe God or the teachings “or traditions” of men. As
for me, I will continue to be led by the Spirit of God and enjoy the mysteries He continues to
reveal in His Word.

One final thing for you to consider…

John 12:42-43: Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the
Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: 43 For they loved the
praise of men more than the praise of God.
