Introduction

Hiring and retaining skilled professionals are two key challenges businesses face today.
Employees and human capital are the most important assets of a modern company. Failure to
recruit and keep the best candidates can lead to reduced productivity and ultimately the demise
of your company. So how do you find and select the best people?
There is a range of options available for recruiting in Serbia. You can announce a vacancy
va
online, in a newspaper, or hire a professional HR consultant to undertake the selection process.
Other options include attending a job fair and/or utilizing the services of University Career
Centers, Youth Employment Agencies and NGOs that offer induindustry-specific
specific recruitment.
The information provided below is listed in alphabetical order and is based on listed agencies
and companies’ publicly available information.
We would like to thank members of the HR/Workforce Development Task Force of the
American
can Chamber of Commerce in Serbia and the Association of HR Professionals in Serbia
for their valuable input.
Starting in 2010,, employers should pay particular attention to their legal obligation to employ a
set number of individuals with disabilities, as stated in the Law on Professional
rofessional Rehabilitation
and Employment of People with Disabilities effective May 23, 2010. The law requires that every
employer with at least 20 emplo
employees employ one person with a disability; an employer with at
least 50 employees has an obligation to employ two people with disabilities, and one additional
disabled individual for every additional set of 50 regular employees.. The law outlines
alternative ways for employers to fulfill their obligations to hire individuals with disabilities; it
also outlines penalties for employers who do not fulfill this legal obligation. More information
on this topic is available at www.karanovic
