2 Precautions for High-Risk

Operations

2.1 Operation Preparations

2.1.1 Designing an Operation Scheme
Before performing any high-risk operation, design a detailed operation scheme.
In addition to a detailed operation procedure, an operation scheme must include the following
points:
1. Inspection and verification methods after operation.
2. Rollback conditions for an operation failure and detailed operation procedure of rollback.
3. Watching plan and monitoring scheme after successful operation.

2.1.2 Operation Procedure

All high-risk operations must comply with the change flow. An operation scheme should be
submitted to the relevant expert group for review, and can be executed only after the scheme
is approved.
Before performing a high-risk operation, file a formal application to the customer and inform
the customer of the detailed operation scheme and implementation plan. In addition, inform
the customer of potential risks and preventative measures in advance, and request the
customer to assign personnel for cooperation.

2.2 Operation Implementation

Follow the approved operation scheme and perform the operation in the customer-specified
duration or the period (00:00 a.m. to 06:00 a.m.) when the traffic volume is commonly
believed to be low.
During the operation, monitor the duration of each phase in the operation and ensure that the
operation and service test can be complete within the specified period.
During the operation implementation, closely watch the running status of the system and

generated alarms. Detect exceptions and handle them in time.

If the operation fails to be implemented within the specified period, roll the operation back
according to the rollback scheme and operation sequence designed at the preparation stage. In
addition, perform an acceptance test after the operation rollback.

2.3 Watching after the Operation

After a high-risk operation, perform complete service tests to ensure that the device runs
normally.
Assign personnel to closely watch the running status of the device and network performance
for two days after the operation to detect and handle problems immediately.
