Fuel Economy
Fuel Economy is to minimize the consumption of fuel while keeping the output static
Or to minimize the energy loses which refers to maximizing fuel efficiency.
What Is Fuel?
Fuel is any material that stores energy that can later be extracted to perform mechanical work in a
controlled manner. In other words, it is a substance that contains energy that can be released and then
manipulated, mostly heat.
Chemical Fuel
Chemical fuels are substances that release energy by reacting with substances around them
Bio Fuel
Biofuel can be broadly defined as solid, liquid, or gas fuel consisting of, or derived from biomass.
Fossil fuel
Fossil fuels are hydrocarbons, primarily coal and petroleum (liquid petroleum or natural gas),
formed from the fossilized remains of ancient plants and animals
Nuclear fuel
Nuclear fuel is any material that is consumed to derive nuclear energy.
Fission
This type of fuel is heavy fissile elements that can be made to undergo nuclear fission
chain reactions in a nuclear fission reactor;
Fusion
Fuels that produce energy by the process of nuclear fusion are currently not utilized
by man but are the main source of fuel for stars, the most powerful energy sources
in nature.
Uses of Fuel:
To run piston engines for
o Electricity
o Mechanical Energy
To heat substance
To produce steam
o Petroleum
o Gas
o Coal
&
Gas & Coal used in Textile Industry:
To produce Electricity
To run engines
To make steam for different processes
Conveyers and Lifts should be used instead of Lifter Vehicles for transportation
of Material.
Other methods for Electricity generation should be used. (Hydro, Solar etc.)
Other sources of Mechanical Energy should be used like pneumatic power, etc.
