Make sure that vibrator is efficiently used after the layer pouring.
Make sure that after pouring the stubs, to their marked top level, top is covered with
polythene or Hessian as convenient.
Make sure that no supports are slackened during pouring.
While using pumpless pour, there are remote chances of forms opening but with pump,
chances are more.
Makw sure that foreman or chargehand type supervisors do not allow water to be added
to concrete during pouring. It often happens that during long pour & concrete truck
getting delayed, concrete stuff is stiffened causing hardship to workers. To svoid that,
they tend to add water to mix which is not acceptable in any case.
Start curing after few hours depending on the temperature but sides of forms externally
can be kept cold by spraying water.
Side forms can be removed after 24 hours to 36 hours. But it takes time while opening the
forms due to many reasons.

ITPs Inspection & Test Plans

Foregoing postings do provide to understand to some extent various quality controls
procedures in the form of check list. The check lists have been little explained for young
engineers. In field, experienced engineers produce such list point wise & that are
approved after incorporating required points of inspections.

ITPs would be required for the final check up of all items essential for inspections &
approvals. These plans shall carry relevant tests & inspections rows or columns
depending on defined or included activities.

These plans shall also contain hold & release points as well as test checks & surveillance
points. All activities shall be dealt in accordingly.

These ITPs projections of requirements shall also be projected on the construction

method statements in the part of QA mix in.
Regards,

Number if ITPs?
It is big issue to decide how many inspections should be planned for any project?
Based on experience & works interests’ it has been seen that excessive inspections do not
cater for a good quality requirement controls.
Inspections should be conducted in a proposing manner by the construction site
personnel.
Inspections should be conducted in a decisive manner by the construction quality
personnel.
Inspections should be conducted in a supervising manner by the consulting quality
personnel.
Inspections should be conducted in a surveillance manner by the consulting quality
personnel.
All relevant personnel must be given procedural opportunities to share responsibilities at
various levels.
It may not be necessary to create hundreds of work items for thorough technical
inspection when all method statements have been approved.
Excessive scheme for inspections may allow hold points that would jeopardize the
progress on works while simultaneously, minimum level of inspections may jeopardize
work qualities.
Moderation must be calculated to keep inspections in such an optimum style that least
paperwork is required with maximum level of quality achievement.
Work input should build a degree of confidence in the construction personnel while the
engineer end must enjoy trust of all personnel involved with project.
ITPs should be approved & sequenced in such a way that progress should move smoothly
with minimum hold points while surveillance should keep overall inspection eyes.
