Refined Sugar

PT. Angels Products ( PT AP ) is one of the companies in the field of industrial crystal sugar refining in
the Province of Banten. PT AP was established in 16 September 2002 which was subsequently
developed base on Domestic Invesment and was active in the industrial crystal sugar refining industry
in the industrial crystal sugar refining industry in the beginning of 2003.

The presence of PT AP's crystal sugar refinery was intended to partially fulfill the requirement for
crystallized refined sugaar locally which was previously fully imported. Refined crystal sugar is
required by food, beverage, pharmaceutical industries and also to fulfill the requirments of a
community that demands high quality sugar.

Production and Development
In the beginning, the production capacity of PT AP was 500 tons of refined sugar perday (175,000 tons
per year) which was increased gradually to 750 tons per day, 1,000 tons per day 1,200 tons per day
( 400,000 tons per year ) and 1,500 tons per day 500,000 tons per year ) of refined sugar. PT.AP was
able to increase gradually without suspending current production and this accomplishment has made
the Indonesian People proud.

The major equipments of the refinery includes vacuum pan, centrifugal, resin column, filtration unit,
rotary dryer and evoporator, pums and others. We have also renovated our factory to ensure that all the
needs are met for the development of the capacity and the enhancement and upgrading of the factory.

Along with our efforts to ensure our competitiveness, PT.AP has also been untilizing a coal boiler
facility produced locally. We have selected a Circulation Fluedized Bed (CFB) type boiler to guarantee
the highest level of efficiency with the use of coal. With the addition of an Electroprecipitator (EP), we
can ensure that it is controlled to be environmentally friendly.

To fulfill our customer's needs, PT AP has obtained International Certification since 24 November 2006
for Quality Management. ISO Certificate ISO 9001:2000 No. 202695 waas issued by Bureau Veritas
( Certifying Institution ) After an intensive audit. Presently, all production processes and supporting
activities are applied in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 22000 IND10.8551.

As of 28 May 2008, PT AP's production of refined sugar has also fulfilled all the quality regulations of
the Indonesian National Standard for Refined Sugar No. 01-3140.2-2006. PT AP's refined sugar is also
Halal (Kosher), as certified by the Indonesian Institute of Food, Drugs and Cosmetics and the
Indonesian Ulema Council ( Indonesia's top Muslim clerical body ). Food and Safety Management
policies according to ISO 22000:2005 for the whole production line is also under certification process.
In terms of integration between ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 22000:2005, PT Angel Products implements
Angel Food Safety Quality Management System (AFQMS).

Marketing
PT AP's refined sugar is practical and is always used by customers in general for the food, beverage,
candy, milk and ice cream industries along with pharmaceutical industries. We are continualy
challenged to improve and to fulfill the requirements of our customers.
For customers of PT AP, the main reason for buying local products compared to importing is because
we can provide after sales service, and at the same time our product is comparable to imported refined
sugar.

In response to the food industry's needs, PT AP is now capable of producing refined sugar with two
type of grains of crystals. The types are smooth grain ( Mean Apperture = 0.4 – 0.6 mm ) and big grain
( Mean Apperture =1.0-1.2 mm ). The degree of sugar purity of the two types of refined sugar products
are the same, that is a minimum of 99% .

Production Process
PT Angels Products Sugar is Produced through the carbonation process and ion exchange resin process.
Internal and External Laboratory result confirm that the sugar produced is of optimum quality anf
fulfills the requirements of consumers who demand the berst quality sugar.
01. Washing / Cleaning Process
The Process is started by weighing raw sugar. Every 1,000 kg of raw, crystal sugar is washed with hot
water from the boiler which then turn into raw sugar syrup.
02. Carbonation
The raw sugar syrup is purified with the help of milk of lime and CO2 gas that is emitted by the boiler.
03. Filtration
The sugar syrup solution is filtered with Rotary Leaf Filter.
04. Ion Exchange Process
The decolorization of the sugar syrup solution is done through the ion exchange process with the help
of resin and a salt solution
05. Evaporation
To be able to optimize and accelerate the process, the sugar syrup solution's concentration is enhanced
with the use of a plate evaporator. The result is a sugar syrup solutin with a high level of concentration.
06. Crystallization
The sugar syrup solution with a high level of concentration which is clear/colorless is turned into a
crystal by going through the boiling pan and crystallization process.
07. Curing
While the crystal is still wet, a centrifugal is used to separate the crystals form water.
08. Drying and Packing
Any dampness remaining from the curing process is dried with the use of a drying tool. Afterwards, the
sugar is packed in sacks of 50kg each, reweighed and stitched. We also now have the facility for 1,000
kg sacks.

Environmental Responsibility
Since 2003, PT.AP has been participating with Indonesia's Environmental Concern Movement
( Gerakan Peduli Lingkungan ) together with 20 factories around the area of Bojonegara Regency, Pulo
Ampel, Serang District. The Environmental Concern Movement was established with the intention of
improving education by giving scholarships.

In addition to education, PT AP's concern also includes the community around our factory, represented
in the form of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to assist the community's activities, religious
activities, the youth and especially the fishermen around the factory area. Every year, PT AP is also
active in the community's activities which includes animal sacrifices (for religious purpose) and Idul
Fitri assitance by giving sugar to the communities of two villages (Bojonegara Village and Margagari
Village) around the factory.

In our efforts to fulfill the provinsions for the preservation of the Environment, PT AP strives to
continually improve our Liquid Waste Management Unit that has been established and enhanced.
Currently, the capacity of our Liquid Waste Management Unit is 2,100 m3 and is capable of processiing
approximately 600.3 m3 per day of liquid waste through an anaerobic process which fulfills the quality
standard of Indonesia's Environmental Policy No. 51 /Men.LH/10/95.

Solid waste that has been processed is stored in the shelter to minimize any foul odor. The solid waste
is then dried and is reviewed for possible use to be produced into bricks PT AP also works together
with thrid parties to use the solid waste in fertilizer production.

Being located near the sea gives us even more inspiration to conserve the mangroves in the surrounding
are. The mangroves clean and filter contaminants or pollutans in the sea. PT.AP has planted mangroves
along the shore bordering our factory. To further maintain and enhance the greenery in the beach, we
continue to provide mangrove seedlings.

Our efforts to preserve the environment has fulfilled the requirements of the Ministry of the
Environment according to the results of the Performance Rating Evaluation of Environmental
Management (PROPER) 2005-2007 and 2008 with a Blue Rating.

Employess
In accordance with our goal to develop and improve production, the employees of PT AP has also
developed and increased. In 2003, there was a total of 296 permanent employees; 308 employees for
2004; and 325 employees for 2005. For 2006, there was a total of 558 employees (358 permanent
employees and 200 non-permanent employees). For 2007, there was a total of 634 employees (419
permanent employees and 230 non-permanent employees).

In 2008, 52% of the total employees came from the areas surrounding the factory (Bojonegara area),
34% from the Serang, Banten District and the rest, 14% come from outside the Banten area.

This reflects PT AP's concern for the welfare and development of the communitiy surrounding the
factory.

PT AP is situated in Bojonegara Village, Serang District, Banten Province with an area of 14.45
hectares and is at the shore of Teluk Banten Beach The strategic location of PT AP is easly accessible
from Jakarta (through Jakarta-Merak Toll, KM 86.5) and is near a market that caters to the food and
beverage industry supplying to the Jabotabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Tanggerang, Bekasi) area.
