ABSTRAK
Menurut data WHO (2016b), cakupan ASI eksklusif di seluruh dunia hanya sekitar 36% selama
periode 2007-2014. Berdasarkan data UNICEF (2013), sebanyak 136,7 juta bayi lahir diseluruh
dunia dan hanya 32,6% dari mereka yang disusui secara eksklusif dalam 6 bulan
pertama.Kebanyakan ibu menyusui tidak memberikan ASI karena ASI tidak lancar sehingga ibu
sering memberikan susu formula.Buah pepaya (Carica papaya L) merupakan buah yang
mengandung Laktagogum merupakan zat yang dapat meningkatkan dan melancarkan produksi
ASI.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemberian sayur papaya muda (Carica
papaya L) terhadap volume ASI pada ibu menyusui di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Siulak Deras
Tahun 2020. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain yang digunakan yaitu pre-
eksperimen one grup pretest posttes. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua ibu menyusui
dengan sampel sebanyak 11 responden. Uji statistik yang digunakan uji paired T-test. Hasil
penelitian diperoleh rata-rata produksi ASI pada ibu menyusui (pretest) yaitu 16.55. Sedangkan
rata-rata produksi ASI pada pada ibu menyusui (posttest) yaitu 21.18. Didapatkan Hasil P
Value= 0,00 lebih kecil dari 0,05 yang mana Ha diterima yang artinya ada pengaruh pemberian
sayur papaya muda (Carica papaya L) terhadap volume ASI pada ibu menyusui di Wilayah
Kerja Puskesmas Siulak Deras tahun 2020.Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan sayur papaya muda
(Carica papaya L) dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat terutama pada ibu menyusui karena
kandungan sayur papaya muda (Carica papaya L) ini dapat meningkatkan volume ASI.
Kata Kunci : Sayur Pepaya muda ,Volume ASI.
ABSTRACT
According to WHO data (2016b), worldwide coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is only around
36% during the 2007-2014 period. Based on data from UNICEF (2013), as many as 136.7
million babies were born worldwide and only 32.6% of them were exclusively breastfed in the
first 6 months. Most breastfeeding mothers did not breastfeed because breast milk was not
smooth so mothers often gave formula milk. Papaya fruit (Carica papaya L) is a fruit that
contains Lactagogum which is a substance that can increase and increase milk production. The
purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of giving young papaya vegetables (Carica
papaya L) to the volume of breast milk in nursing mothers in the Siulak Deras Health Center in
2020. The type of this research is quantitative with the design used is pre-experimental one
group pretest posttes. The population in this study were all breastfeeding mothers with a sample
of 11 respondents. The statistical test used was paired T-test. The results obtained by the
average milk production in nursing mothers (pretest) is 16.55. While the average milk
production in nursing mothers (posttest) is 21.18. The P value = 0.00 is smaller than 0.05 which
is Ha which means that there is an influence of giving young papaya (Carica papaya L) to the
volume of breast milk for breastfeeding mothers in the Work Area of Siulak Deras Health Center
in 2020. The results of this study are expected young papaya vegetables (Carica papaya L) can
be used by the community, especially in nursing mothers because the content of young papaya
vegetables (Carica papaya L) can increase the volume of breast milk.
