What is Incremental Dimensional Built and one time Dimension Built?
Question #1: The difference between ASO and BSO - ASO stands for "Aggregate Stor
age Option" and became part of Essbase with version 7.x . BSO stands for "Block
Storage Option" and has been the traditional way that Essbase stores data.
ASO cubes can comfortably have significantly more dimensions and members than BS
O cubes, but are limited in the ways that the data can be calculated. For exampl
e, ASO cubes are typically single-currency. (multi-currency is possible in ASO,
but it's very awkward).
Question #16 A block is essentially a collection of all the stored members of al
l dense dimensions in an outline. To calculate block size, multiply each dense d
imension's stored member counts, and then multiply that end result by 8. That's
for non-compressed BSO cubes.
