RECOGNITION OF TRUSTEES
The Mission of the Month for February is Family Promise
(Salem County). The mission of Family Promise is “to help
homeless families achieve and sustain their independence.”
Family Promise is a non-profit organization that is
committed to providing temporary overnight
accommodations, meals, and assistance to homeless families.
With the help of trained volunteers and support from
religious congregations, civic organizations and local schools,
FPSC reaches out to displaced families with compassion and
acceptance. The network provides a safe haven to stay while
they try to find affordable housing, social service, and/or
permanent employment. This organization is also comitted
to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence.
Please keep this ministry in your prayers. If you would like
to make a donation there are preprinted envelopes in the
narthex. Feel free to take one.

We appreciate our retiring officers who are taking some

their time and talents to the Lord and our church! May

Thank you to everyone who purchased a hoagie and
helped our youth raise money for the mission trip! It
was a huge success and we thank you for your support.

February’s All Boards Meeting has been changed to Monday,
February 21st. Congregational Life will also meet on the 21st
but will begin at 6:30 pm. The Mission meeting will now be
held on Monday, February 28th.

need your help! We even have two articles already. So
hurry and get us your article while there is still space!
If you are willing to write an article please turn it in to Jill
by February 20. E-mail her at jstout312@comcast.net or
leave it in the basket outside of the nursery. Thank you in

.Crock Pot Creations and Talent Show – March 13th-5pm
We are going to be voting for the best crock pot
creations…soups, deserts, chicken, lasagna, or whatever you
can create! Please fill out the enclosed form and return it to
Dana or it can be placed into the offering plate if you can
help in some way. Extra forms are located in the narthex.
We also need people willing to entertain us. If you have a
talent you are willing to share please sign up for the talent
show. Feel free to sign up as a group or as an individual. We
will also be having a silent auction on gift baskets and items.
If you have a gift basket or item (or gift/talent or service)
you would like to donate please let us know. What wonderful
night to come out for fellowship and for supporting our
youth. Please plan to attend!
30 Hour Famine: The Youth Group will be participating this
year in the 30 Hour Famine to help raise money for World
Vision in order to help fight hunger. It is being held on
February 25-26. Volunteers are needed to stay with the
group for blocks of time. They also need someone to make a
“break the fast” meal for 6 pm on Saturday. Something
simple and easy to digest since they will have fasted for 30
hours! Please see the sign up sheet in the narthex.
Today in worship we are encouraged to pray for one
another through out the year. Please take your “heart” –
that you received during the service- and place it somewhere
you will see it (in your Bible, in your car, on the bathroom
mirror) and remember to pray for this request often. The
Lord will do great works in our midst when we humble
ourselves, confess our sins, call upon his name and pray (and
don’t forget to listen to him speak)! If you did not receive a
“heart” or would be willing to pray for other requests, please
see Pastor Julia. There are many needs that we can lift up
to our Lord’s throne together. Thank you to Dot Floyd for
bringing us this idea last year and for making the hearts for
us again this year!
There will be a meeting regarding the mission trip on
Sunday, February 20th after Sunday School in the youth
lounge. All youth who are attending the mission trip and
their parents are invited. Parents can begin arriving at 11:45
to discuss any questions that they may have with Pastor
Julia.

Home Groups for Growth
If you would like an opportunity to grow during this Lenten
season we are hoping to begin a “home group” in Pastor Julia
and Joe’s home. We would like to have at least 10 people to
join us (more would be welcome!) as we meet together on
Sunday nights from 6-7:30 for fellowship, prayer and a brief
devotional. Of course we’ll also have a time of
refreshments! Children are also welcome to come and will be
entertained by Anna, John and Joshua in a separate room.
The early church met in homes as they grew to know and
love the Lord together. Meeting in homes is a great way to
get to know one another better and to challenge each other
to be all we can for God! If you are interested please sign
up in the narthex or please talk to Pastor Julia or Joe. If
we do not get at least 6-8 other interested people we will
wait to begin until we have a sizable group. Couples,
Families, Individuals, Neighbors and Friends are all welcome
to attend!
We are currently planning on studying some of the ideas
from the book “Gospel in Life: Grace Changes Everything” by
Timothy Keller . You will not need to purchase the book.
THE FOLLOWING MEETING DATES ARE CURRENTLY
BEING PLANNED: March 6, 13, 20, 27 and April 3, 10, 17.
Meanwhile there is still time to come out for the last three
sessions of our Alpha Course and Discovery Club for kids.
We have three wonderful dinners planned, great worship
from the praise band and exciting topics to discuss. This
week’s Alpha topic is: “What about the church?”
February 21 – President’s Day Project
Join Pastor Julia and the youth as we go to St. Theresa’s
Good Shepherd dining room in Bridgeton. We will leave the
church around 10am and return by 2 pm. We will be helping
to prepare and serve a meal for the many adults and children
that will visit St. Theresa’s on the 21st. Please donate paper
towels, plastic bags (grocery store), and any gently used
clothes/books/toys/Bibles/etc. Bring them to church next
Sunday and leave them in the narthex or in the social hall
and mark them “St. Theresa’s”. Let us know if you would like
to join us!

As of January 30 the benevolence and tithes totals are:

the Lord for his blessings and continue to be faithful in our
giving of time and talents.
There are additional “Mission Focus Through the Year
2011” located in the narthex. Please feel free to take
one. Pray for our missions throughout the year!
Why not invite a friend, neighbor or family member to
church this winter! It has been wonderful to see our
attendance growing in our 10 am worship but there is always
room for more! Please contact Pastor Julia if you would like
a pastoral visit or know someone who is in need of one.
