OHA MANAGEMENT

RS-OHA: D1-D3 (Qecc) 192k bit/s for regenerator section management

MS-OHA: D4-D12 (Qecc) 576k bit/s for multiplexer section management
STM1 is the reference level for the section overhead. In STMxx the SOH is a STM1 SOH repeated xx times, however
only the first STM1 is used for some bytes i.e. the D-bytes. Consequently Qecc capacity is the same for STM1 and
STM16.

TEX cards can only route in VC12 OH. The VC12 OH is low BW typically 4800 baud and tied to the VC12.
The AC1 ADM has one V.28 interface only. East or West access can be configured in SW.
If several hops must be routed a TEX card can provide the second V.28 interface.
Alternatively V.11 can be used. Up to 3 V.11 interfaces can be accessed per card.

OHA2 MODULE CM4054

See MA124 pp187
The OHA module provides, through two of the 18 STM-n interfaces:
A 64k bit/s User channel.
A 576k bit/s User channel.
When using the OHA2 module it is possible to route the User channels between two of the 18 STM-n connections.
Routing means that the User channel inputs from one STM-n interface are sent to the User Channel outputs of another
STM-n interface via a buffer on the OHA2 module.
The OHA2 module handles four STM-n interfaces - the two aggregate interfaces and two selectable tributary
interfaces.
Two of the four interfaces have User channel access on the OHA AUX panel, the other two interfaces are routed.
The OHA module is configured by using the 12 DIP switches located on the card. Via the DIP switches it is possible
to locate User channels either in the regenerator or in the multiplexer section of the STM-n SOH. The 576k bit/s user
channels are located in DCCm (D4 - D12).

On a Unix host the CASE of file names is significant. Similarly read access to "world" must be granted on the files.
The date written in the SCRIPT.ADM/CMC/ATX file does not need to correspond to the actual file date. Line
separation can be newline (UNIX) or carriage return and newline (WINDOS).
TABLFILE.LMC is a text file specifying ESW module compatibility list. This file is not necessary in order to change
the AC1 ADM module only.
AC1 N-cards (AD130) does not support download of the LMC file
On AC1 main and sub type needs to be re-entered if a Flash erase has been done - even if they are correct
The presence of OSI connectivity does by no means imply IP connectivity. I.e. embedded channels will only
transport OSI packets. IP connectivity must therefore be ensured in advance. Test by downloading a file without
clearing the file system first. LAN interface speed may need to be set. Make sure the image matches the module:
BOOT: No 'SYSTEMFILE' for ADMQ in script-file!!! – 0.

SAMPLE PROCEDURE
The following AC1 example will clear Flash memory (the file system) and load new ESW from a TFTP server.
The TFTP directory (/usr/tftpboot) contains:
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root system 1077438 Jan 3 21:39 AD148V19.BIN
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root system 1075685 Jan 3 21:39 ADQ48V53.BIN

-rwxrwxrwx 1 root system 160 Jan 8 19:32 SCRIPT.ADM
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root system 291 Jan 4 20:16 TABLFILE.LMC

Configure a standard terminal (i.e. Hyperterm) to 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity and no flow-control.
Attach the terminal to the Craft interface of the Focus element (below an AC1). Reset the NE.

USING TFTP IN IP MODE

Subsequent to network file load the NE accepts tftp requests. Since tftp does not support remote file listing this means
the file name must be known in advance (wildcards are not supported). The following example shows retrieval of the
NE database from an AC1:
# cd /tmp
# touch DATAB.DAT
# chmod 666 DATAB.DAT
# tftp 130.11.2.125 -get DATAB.DAT -mode binary (where IP address is the NE)

FOCUS-2-140
Point-to-point 2-way communication channel merged into the optical line code. By means of the FOCUS
NM200 tools the following options can be selected:
1. RS232 V.24/V.28 serial asynchronous channel, with a sampling rate depending on the LTU line speed. See the
module specific specifications.
2. RS232 V.24/V.28 serial asynchronous channel. 9600 or 19200k bit/s.
1 start bit, 9 data bits. 1 start bit received => next 9 bits will be transmitted.

The Destination Address is a set of four (or five) parameters, which define the physical location of each NE (module):
Network ID
Rack ID
Rack Type
Sub Rack ID
Sub Rack Type
Module Position
Module Group
Sub Rack Type = Slim
Rack ID = is user-definable (from 1 to 254) but the same for all sub racks in a slim rack
Rack Type = 5, 6 or 8
Sub Rack IDs = 1 to 8 inclusive (depending upon the rack type)
Module Position = positions are numbered from left to right in each sub rack, starting with 1
Module Group = not applicable for modules in slim sub racks
