In reading Forum Communicatiins' Reporter Adam Willis' story on Tore Maras-Lindeman in today's Forum Communications publications -- a story in which we are both
quoted -- I can forsee a Rob Port column on the subject coming up in the near future.

After reading a defamatory comment about me which was made by you -- about me -- this past Fall in a column about a North Dakota Supreme Court case in which I
was one of the lawyers representing one of the parties -- I am obliged to communicate with you in advance.

In this regard, am hereby advising you that puished comments by you such as "attorney David Thompson's crazy legal theories" are false and defamatory statements
which I will not ignore, and which I may well address in legal action against you and your employer Forum Communications.

Your reporting earlier this year about Dem-NPL District 18 Legislative Candidate Jackie Hoffarth was defamatory in the least one respect, and my concern about your
ability to recognize libel in your columns has prompted me to send this e-mail this morning.

I am glad that you survived your ordeal with COVID-19, and I hope that you are not suffering any residual effects with this potentially deadly disease.
