The alternative licensing method included on this disc is for 32 bit application
s.
In order to activate AutoCAD 2008 on a 64 bit system, the application must first
be installed and activated on a 32 bit system workstation. Using the ACAD Portab
le
License Utility, the license can be exported, via a network, to the local drive
of
the 64 bit system. The AutoCAD 2008 x64 Portable License Utility can then be use
d
to import the license. Once the license transfer is complete, the 32 bit
application will no longer function. Uninstalling, cleaning the registry, and
reinstalling the application meets with mixed results (the new installation
continues to recognize the license has been exported). One solution: Prior to
installing ACAD 2008 x86, create a restore point with System Restore or create a
backup image of the drive using a drive image utility such as PowerQuest Drive
Image Pro, Acronis, R-Drive Tools or other imaging software of your choice. Inst
all
the application, export the license, re-image the drive using the restore point
or
backup, reinstall ACAD 2008 x86 and activate.

Installation instructions
=========================

1. Install AutoCAD 2008 on the 64 bit system,

Click on Configure (after accepting license agreement),
Select Stand-alone-license,
Select your desired options,
Click on Configuration Complete and then Install.
2. When install is complete, open the Portable License Utility
(Start/All Programs/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2008/Portable License Utility),
Select the Computers tab,
Record the information listed under Computer Name and Identification Code
(EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS - Caps and spaces included),
Exit the utility.
3. Install AutoCAD 2008 on the 32 bit system,
Click on Configure (after accepting license agreement),
Select Stand-alone-license,
Select your desired options,
Click on Configuration Complete and then Install.
4. Start AutoCAD 2008 and select Activate the Product,
when asked for activation, Enter Activation Code:
653-12354321 or 666-98989898 or 666-69696969.
5. Open the keygen and paste the Request Code,
Generate an activation code and copy,
Paste the activation code into ACAD,
Continue the registration process,
 Exit out of AutoCAD.
6. Open the Portable License Utility,
Select the Export button,
Select the Add button,
Enter the Computer Name and Identification Code recorded from the x64,
Select OK,
Select the x64 info. and select export,
Navigate to the drive of the x64 system and save the file
(Remember its location),
Exit the Portable License Utility.
7. On the x64 system, open the Portable License Utility,
Select the Import button,
Select the Use Transfer File radio button,
Navigate to, and select the exported license,
Select OK and exit,
Start AutoCAD.
