Black Lizardfish

Black Lizardfish also called as 'Deep-water Greeneye’ and this fish can be found around the
world in southern oceans. Black Lizardfish is one of the oddest looking deep sea creatures, at
depths between 1,500m to 3000m. Its length is from 20cm to 30cm.

Black Swallower

The Black Swallower is also a very odd looking fish in deep sea. ‘Chiasmodon niger’ is a
Binomial name of Black Swallower. The Black Swallower is found in hot tropical waters and it is
up to 5000 feet deep. The Black Swallower is another quite little fish which grows to a length of
about 25cm.

Chimaeras

A chimaera is one of the larger of deep sea fish. It can grow in excess of 150 cm long (1.5
meters). This fish is belongs to the same family as both sharks and rays. But it has a smooth

Vampire Squid

The vampire squid is a small fish, this fish can be found around the world in tropical oceans. Its
maximum length of 30cm and it is another fairly small animal. The Vampire Squid lives in very

The viperfish is one of the mainly strange looking fish in the deep sea. It is also one of the most

to temperate parts. Male Humpback Anglerfish length is up to 3cm and the female Humpback
Anglerfish length is up to 20cm.

Chambered Nautilus

Chambered Nautilus is similar to ancient fossils. The Nautilus looks like a cuttlefish although
with a round circular nature shell in its position of the long flat shell on cuttlefish. The Nautilus
uses its tentacles to pull in prey towards its mouth. The Nautilus eyes has no lenses and quite a

Gulper Eel

them to swallow fish bigger than themselves. Gulper eels have small eyes and huge tails

Hatchetfish is one of the very smallest fish in deep sea, this fish can be found anyplace among
