EECE433 Database Lab Regulations

‡ Lab attendance is mandatory. The instructor will explain or answer questions related to Database lab topics
in conjunction with the assignments

‡ Lab assignments will be due on a weekly or bi-weekly depending on the complexity of the assignment.

‡ You have Programming Team project to be submitted at the end of the semester. You have to group
yourselves into groups of three for this purpose. You all need to have a common base of knowledge. Expertise
can vary. The names have to be submitted to the instructor during the first week. Also the last two assignments
are Team work assignments

‡ The Suggested programming language to use is C#. The language will be used to design windows and
Web applications connected to databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server with C#. Another programming language
which may be used is Java, in case the student (or the group) has good knowledge of it. The connected database
will be then mysql. You will be taught major features of C# initially but rapidly. The student has to follow up
alone.

‡ Each lab assignment has to be presented to the instructor and submitted to moodle. Every assignment has a
due date. Late assignments will be accepted but penalized. If an excuse is presented, the instructor will judge it
depending on the different existing criteria.

‡ Lab assignment grading:

± Assignments will have clear grade distribution for every requested feature. If all requirements are met, a
student will get 90%. Additional feature beyond requirement will add up to 10%. Sometimes no additional
features are required, only submission on time is needed. It will be mentioned.

‡ Project grading:

± Coming up with clear definition of requirements and meeting those: 80%

± Additional features: 10%

± Literature survey with comparison to other research work: 10%
