Finishing:
Using the tapestry needle and a small amount of eye color, sew 2 eyes on rnd 8 on head. I used 3
or 4 straight stitches fanned out ( ) or a few French knots could be used for dot eyes.
Changing to skin color, sew nose using satin stitch starting between eyes and taking stitch down
two rows making 4 or 5 stitches to build nose. Changing to mouth color, sew small mouth in
row below nose making four stitches to make her appear to sing. (See pictures below)

Using glue that is washable and hair color floss, cut floss skein in half and then half again so that
you have 2 groups of about 6 inch (15cm) lengths. Glue a straight center line from 2 rows above
eyes on face front, up over head and down back of head to row 3. Lay center of one ½ floss
skein onto glue line. Glue line where floss ends on back of head across row to where the 1st
skein lays down on sides. Lay 2nd half of floss edges on this glue line and allow floss to cover
back of head. Glue under floss where needed to keep in place and allow to dry. Cut back floss
length even with sides.

If you would rather sew hair on and make her hair with ringlets, load a needle with hair colored
floss. Pull thread through a hole on hair line and another in next hole. Do not pull tight but
leave a long loop about 6” (15cm). Make several loops in area. With this group of loops, twist
loops tightly. To secure loops put needle through end of loops and stitch to top of head.
Continue in same manner for all the hair-line. (See pictures below and next page)

Using glue, glue hands to muff, putting plastic wrap between body and hands/muff, so that they
do not end up stuck together. Tie Capelet around shoulders and tuck inside capelet. Tie Bonnet
to head. If this is for an ornament, thread about 6 inches fur color yarn through last row at top of
bonnet through 3 or 4 stitches and tie into a loop. Spray starch ornament for stiffness if desired.

Enjoy your new bookmark/ornament.
