ABSTRACT
The background of this research is: (1) Teachers do not know much about
metacognitive, (2) The lack of teacher understanding of the instruments used
in measuring metacognitive awareness. Both of these problems have an impact
on the absence of follow-up to improve the quality of learning that sharpens
the use of students' metacognitive awareness. The formulation of the research
problem is whether there is a relationship between metacognitive awareness
and biology learning outcomes of students at Muhammadiyah 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
and 8 Palembang High School?. This study aims to find out the relationship
between students' metacognitive awareness and biology learning outcomes at
Muhammadiyah High School Palembang. The research design used was
quantitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques using
questionnaires and biology learning outcomes (UAS). The data obtained were
analyzed using significance test and Pearson product moment test. The
research subjects were class X IPA, XI IPA, and XII IPA in Muhammadiyah
Palembang High School, the sampling technique used slovin formula. The
results obtained after using the significance test at Muhammadiyah high
schools in Palembang, it is known that the significance value < 0.05, which
means there is a relationship between metacognitive awareness and student
biology learning outcomes in Muhammadiyah high schools in Palembang and
have a level of relationship included in the category "Strong and Strong
Enough".
