PROJECT PROFILE:

PROJECT: Datamart for Service Module

As a Datawarehouse Developer, I involved in Collecting Requirements like Analyzing Business


needs (Frequently required reports, Adhoc Queries), Analyzing Database, How transformations
are used to get required data to the data mart From OLTP database. The Data mart being
developed will be enable Business people and customers to track the resolution and response
time for the service provided using the service module, and to analyze problem dimension
versus different metrics and other dimensions. The service module Data mart maintains data
pertaining to the start and end time for a service call. We want analyze the response and
resolution times based on the times stored in service.

Data will be read with out complex transformations from the database table whenever
possible and will be define certain views on the database to read the data. The frequency of
uploads will be set to weekly. This will be scheduled to start automatically every Saturday
midnight.

We are developing four reports.


• Reports to analyze Response/Resolution times WRT service area/service center/service
engineer, drill down will be provided for the same. Users will also be able to analyze on
timeliness by drilldown from year->quarter->month.
• Reports to analyze response/Resolution times WRT customer/model.
Responsibilities:
• Analyzed database, collecting requirements.
• Create the Catalog using Cognos Impromptu Administrator.
• Using Cognos Impromptu Administrator to create and maintain Folders, Joins, table,
Prompts, Conditions and calculations.

PROJECT: Datamart for Materials Management (Purchase Module)

As a Software Engineer, I was a part of team in development of Datawarehouse for Madhucon


Constructions Ltd. Insight project provides datawarehousing solution for a typical Construction
Company. The company has operational systems for Purchase, Production, Sales & Distribution
and Finance. I was involved with creation of datamart for Purchase Module. The datawarehouse
database resided on Oracle9i database. Data was extracted and loaded periodically into the

Datawarehouse database. Used Informatica to load data into datawarehouse database and
create the Catalog using Cognos and generated ad-hoc reports, drill down, ranking for various
purchase activities like supplier source analysis, supplier contact, supplier address, quotation
analysis, purchase order, payment terms and conditions, transportation etc.
Responsibilities:
• Create the Catalog using Cognos Impromptu Administrator.
• Using Cognos Impromptu Administrator to create and maintain Folders, Joins, table,
Prompts, Conditions and calculations.
• Using Cognos to create group, filter and sorting.

PROJECT: Data Mart for P&G Products and Sales

This project deals with the products and sales. Data Mart for Products and sales for P & G
Limited the source data from oracle8.0/ flat files and extracting the data and cleaned the
unwanted data. Using PL/SQL procedures, data populated into facts and dimensions. Used
Cognos to create Catalog and generated various reports, by using the window power play. This
data mart contains the 250 product types and their competitor’s also. The system allows
marketing and sales users to maintain targets for various products. In other words, a target is
an opportunity to grow the business, which enters this system. A forecast is made for the
potential that can be achieved by users for current year and next five years. The main aim of
this system is to ensure cent percent matching of the invoices raised against the targets. The
invoices are fed into the system via the data warehouse.

Responsibilities:

As a Designer (Warehousing), was responsible for the following activities


• Responsible for Extracting, Transforming and Loading data from Oracle, XML, Flat files
And placing it into Data warehouse
• Design, Development and Testing of Mappings, Mapplets using informatica
PowerCenter5.1
• Interacting with management to gather sources & their requirements.
• Migrating Informatica mappings and sessions to production as per instructions specified
in the document.
• Monitoring the Informatica loads.
• Failure analysis for Informatica loads using Error logs.
• Writing Stored Packages, Procedures, Functions, and Database Triggers using SQL,
PL/SQL.
• Configured Repository Manager, created folders and managed objects in repository
