.9 How will this workshop help you in your current work (maximum 200

The field of Biophotonics is emerging from research being conducted at the
interface of the physical and biological sciences and engineering. It is the science
of generating and harnessing light (photons) to image, detect and manipulate
biological materials. It is a research that uses light and other forms of radiant
energy to understand the inner workings of cells and tissues in living organisms.
The approach allows researchers to see, measure, analyze and manipulate living
tissues in ways that have not been possible before.
I am doing my research in the field of Biophotonics (Laser tissue interaction and
wave propagation in random media, biomaterials characterization with lasers and
diagnostic and treatment of malignant diseases with PDT. which is the first time
ever in Pakistan, is currently under way. Major problems are lack of
communication with the researcher in this field, which need to be addressed.
Firstly, this research is IMPORTANT for the welfare of mankind and
to develop new scientific techniques. Secondly, it is a wonderful opportunity to
develop a sound background In a field, which is very important, both for
biophotonics and laser tissue interaction study. Which are the strong candidates
for our future research. Major problems is lack of communication with the
researcher in this field
Lastly, through this research work strong link will be developed
between researchers of the Islamic countries.
