Agenda The January Minutes were read and approved by
All Selwyna Tetangco and Cesar Martinez
Mai welcomed two guests to the meeting: Ed Badilla
and Bartolo Mendez.
Small Christian Communities Ed Badilla is on the Core Team for the Small Christian
Ed Badilla and Bartolo Mendez Communities. The Core Group meets quarterly. They
are attempting to create new groups. They sponsor
the free donuts fellowship with the help of the parish
funds.
Mai Vo attended a meeting and feels we need to
continue to be of support to them.
The SCC do have by-laws. They have a guidebook that
is given to the PF (Pastoral Facilitator). It contains the
calendar for the coming year (2011). This guidebook
is new this year. It is now in English and hope to have
it translated into Spanish as well. Tavale is interested
in how the SCC works and hopes to eventually begin a
Samoan SCC Group.

Selwyna passed out to all the preliminary details for Attend QLM February 12, 2011
the QLM Meeting for all to review. Meeting!
Volunteers assigned for the different duties that need
to be filled on the day of the QLM. There will be a 15
minute refreshment break about 10:15 am.
Handouts to be given out to participants: Agenda,
Icebreaker instructions and Evaluations (all in both
English and Spanish). Board members please stay to
help clean-up after the meeting.
Kay Sempel will be introduced as Franciscan Covenant
Volunteer and will give a presentation on the Life at
the Old Mission San Luis Rey.
Another time allotment will be given to Fr Chuck for
Questions and Answers.
New Parish Staff Introduced and Closing Remarks.
Sel explained the new folder to add QLM Materials so
each group preparing the next meeting would have a
guide to use. There will also CD included in the book
with more details.
Sel gave us a copy of the Ministry Directory with an
explanation of giving out golden pins.
Also a handout was given with Mission San Luis Rey
Parish Staff Positions.
Fr. Chuck gave a report on the Sports Court. We have
a grand total of $121,222.00 thus far and still are in
need of $208,778. The Charlie's Buckets have raised
over $4000.00

Sales and hope to have another successful weekend
of cookie sales. He also spoke about the Assisi
Pilgrimage illustration done by Darlene Seale and will
be available in 2 sizes. All money raised will be split to
support projects that include the Mission San Luis Rey
Parish Sports Court/Parking Lot and the Mission San
Luis Rey Retreat Center. We would like to sell 250 of
each size to hopefully raise $15,000. Allen Hartman
said the engineering company is coming with changes
and recommendations for the Sports Court. Lee also
stated that the rummage sale is going to be canceled
for now.
Catholic Schools week is currently happening. It began
with a Children's Mass. The Children's Choir will be
singing on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 10:00
AM.
Casino Night fundraising and polo shirts with San
Damiano Cross on the front.
Enrollment is up at the school. Allen talked about
having the opportunity of funding up to 15 or more
half-tuition scholarships for our Parish School
provided by Tom and Adele E. Davis Trust Fund. We
will be asking parishioners to donate a matching
amount.
Beginning in Lent the set up of the Serra Center will
change hopefully to focus on the Eucharist rather
than the screen. Lighting issue came up and will be
looked at in the future.
Serra Center will also be painted.

Scouting Groups A meeting place could be established and put on the

Fr. Chuck/Mai Vo Parish Calendar. Mai will check on it and it wouldn't
impose on other groups. Boy Scouts Group Meeting
will be offered to whole parish not just the school.
$ Matters Converting the parish to Quickbooks.
Allen Hartman Fellowship Center at this point is quiet and most likely
will not happen.
We are solvent right now. Each month is a stretch.
Christmas Collection was good.
