FEE ORDINACE

Pursuant to Section 8-1c of the Connecticut General Statutes, it is hereby ordained that:

The following schedule of fees shall be charged for the processing of applications by the New Hartford
Planning and Zoning Commission Payment of all fees must accompany the application.

1. Special Exception in a Residential Zone $150.00


2. Special Exception in a all other Zones $250.00
3. Site Plans $100.00
4. Site Plan Modification $50.00
5. Subdivision or Re-subdivision on Existing Roads $250.00 per Lot
6. Subdivision or Re-subdivision on proposed Road or Private Drive $350.00 per Lot
7. Multi-Family Dwelling $500.00 Plus $75/ unit
8. Sand and Gravel Operations $350.00
9. Zoning or Subdivision Regulation Text or Map Amendment $300.00
10. Modify approval of permit for application 1-9 $50.00

The following schedule of fees shall be charged for the processing of applications by the New Hartford Zoning
Enforcement Officer payment of all fees must accompany the application

11. Sign Permit $25.00


12. Zoning Permit $25.00
13. Zoning Compliance $25.00

The following schedule of fees shall be charge for the processing of applications by the New Hartford Zoning
Board of Appeals payment of all fees must accompany the application

14. Zoning Board of Appeals – Variance $350.00


15. Zoning Board of Appeals – Appeal $350.00

The following schedule of fees shall be charge for the processing of applications by the New Hartford Inland
Wetlands and Watercourse Commission payment of all fees must accompany the application

16. Declaratory Ruling for Use as of Right and Non- Regulated Activities $ No Fee
17. All Regulated Activities by Commission $60.00
18. Upland Review by Agent $60.00
19. Public Hearing Fee $200.00
20. Modification of approval $25.00
21. Show Cause Hearing $200.00

For any application, as listed above, whereas work has commenced prior to the issuance of a permit the
following fee shall apply in addition to the permit fee
22. After the Fact Application $300.00

****In addition to the fees listed above the applicant is responsible to pay all State fees at the time the application is
submitted.

The fees set forth above are the minimum application fees required. When the actual cost of processing an
application exceeds the Minimum Application Fee, due to the need for outside consultant services, the permit
granting authority shall charge the applicant a surcharge fee to fund the approximate actual cost of processing
the application.

The expenses for such outside consultants may be estimated by the permit granting authority upon receipt of the
application, based upon the projected expenses of reviewing, evaluation, and processing the application. This
reasonable estimate, together with the appropriate application fee given above, shall be paid forthwith, and the
application shall be deemed incomplete until these fees have been submitted.

For the purpose of this ordinance an “outside consultant” means a professional who is not an employee of the
town including, but not limited to, engineering, traffic, environmental, and planning professionals.

Any portion of the surcharge fee not expended by the town on the project shall be rebated to the applicant upon
completion of the review, evaluation and processing of the application.

The Commission shall bill the applicant for any costs incurred by the Town in excess of the surcharge fee paid
by the applicant. This bill shall be paid by the applicant prior to the issuance of any permits.

This ordinance shall be effective 15 days after publication, as provided by law.
