In today’s world it has become necessary for everyone to possess basic IT skills. Virtual
University's Computer Proficiency License (VU-CPL) is a series of interactive modules
designed to equip people of all ages with these abilities. VU-CPL is specially designed
following the “Learn at your own pace” principle. Any body can acquire computer skills
through the use of these six modules that cover all the basic office and business needs.

VU CPL is recommended for all those who want to learn about computers and their basic
applications. You may confidently recommend it to all who want to aquire basic
computer knowledge.

You may obtain certificates for one or more of the modules, or combine them all to
become a Virtual University certified computer professional.

Module 1

Module 1 will provide you an insight into basic computer concepts. This module includes
introduction to hardware, software and some basic concepts of Information Technology
such as data storage, memory, etc.

Module 2

Module 2 will give you basic knowledge and competence in using the common functions
of a personal computer and its operating system. You will be able to manage and
organize files and folders, and learn how to create, copy, move and delete files and
folders.

Module 3

In this module you will learn the basics of word processing. You will learn how to create
and format your documents, use fonts, learn about justification and other important
features like Mail Merge etc.

Module 4
After completing Module 4, you will be able to create your own spreadsheets for
managing and organizing numerical data. You will learn to accomplish standard
mathematical and logical operations using basic formulae and functions, and also learn
how to create graphs, charts, and much more.

Module 5

Module 5 will teach you how to create, format and prepare effective presentations. You
will also learn how to include tables, graphics and charts in your presentations as well as
how to use various slide show effects and other advance software features.

Module 6

In this module you will learn about the internet and how to use browsers to perform
various tasks such as searching etc. You will also learn how to compose, send and receive
emails, attach documents to email and other features.
