is an Indian company based in Bangalore, involved in designing and manufacturing of compact electric
vehicles. It is one of the first companies to introduce electric vehicles worldwide. The company's flagship

EV REVAi is the world's best selling electric vehicle so far. The company has been acquired by Indian
conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra in May 2010, and now operates as one of its parent's marquees.

Following the deal, the company was renamed as Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Private

Limited. Mahindra¶s president of automotive business, Pawan Goenka, became the new company¶s
chairman. As a result of ownership change, General Motors pulled out of the tie-up with Mahindra
Reva that was to produce e-spark.[9]

In Feb 2011 GoinGreen, the UK's exclusive importer of the G-Wiz announced that it will only sell G-Wiz
models until Autumn 2011.[10]

RECC currently produces two versions of the REVAi, an urban electric micro-car seating two adults and
two children:

Range, speed, safety and interior specifications all fall along the lines of a new generation of battery
electric vehicles. In Europe, the car will fall under NCAPcrash testing regulations. The IC (inter-City)
model has a top speed of 104 km/h (65 mph) and a range of 160 km (99 mi). The interior is of a far higher
grade when compared to the earlier REVA quadracycle and the back seats now comfortably fit 2 adults.

The Frankfurt Motor Show also saw the unveiling of a show car known as the NXG. Production is
scheduled for 2012. The NXG will also feature REVA's patented drive-train technology and the REVive
system. The two-seater sports car is expected to stand out for performance and speed.

A new 30,000 capacity assembly plant in Bangalore has reached completion. It is currently the world's
largest operational example of a plant specially dedicated to the assembly of battery electric vehicles. The
entire building is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited allowing the
company to boast one of the lowest dirt-to-dust carbon footprints in the automotive world.

RECC is partnering with Bannon Automotive to set up a manufacturing base in upstate New York to
produce the NXR model.

On the British motoring show Top Gear, presented by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard
Hammond on BBC, the G-Wiz (as it is known in the UK) has been the object of much ridicule. Top Gear
have, on several instances, tried to destroy the G-Wiz or make fun of it for its poor speed, bad battery life
and overall design and safety.[14]

The company introduced REVA on 11th May, 2001 in India and ceremonially the curtain was raised by

Rewa is a battery operated electric car, specially designed for city roads. A totally pollution free vehicle, it has an
onboard charger to facilitate easy charging, which can be carried out by plugging into any 15 Amp socket at home or
work. A fully automatic car, it has no clutch or gears.

The Classe variant of the car has body colored bumpers, with trendy hub-caps and stylish Decals. Maintenance cost
is low. The hatchback version provides comfortable ride for the passengers. With high seating position and wide
doors, passengers have easy ingress and egress. All seats in the car have adjustable head-rest, making the journey
comfortable.

The car has well-appointed interiors, with ample space for the passengers and luggage. All the three models have
 foldable rear seats, which means that you can make extra room for the luggage. Small storage spaces have been
placed tactfully in the car. An efficient air conditioning system has been mounted on Rews AC. The compressor is
powered by a separate electric motor. AM/FM stereo system ensures that you have music to listen while you journey.

Reva is available in three variants - Reva Standard, Reva AC, and Reva Classe.

The car has safety features like dent-proof ABS body panels, side-impact beams, a steel space frame and dual-
braking system. The steel space frame protects the passengers in the event of collision. All models have scratch
proof ABS body panels. The cars can withstand small impact collisions. Side impact beams are fitted on the doors.
Large crush zone in the front ensures that the passengers do not get a serious injury in the event of a collision.
