EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Being a management trainee at sahara care house my objective of study was:
• To study on the strategic approach adopted by sahara care house to stand strongly
in the competitive service industry.
• To compare the plans of sahara care house with the plans of other competitors
plans.
The study of knowing the strategic approach of sahara care house is done by knowing the
key approach adopted by sahara care house and the way marketing done by them to
attract the customer base.
To give a strong base to my study I researched about the all the aspects through
which sahara is doing its marketing about the plans and policies of sahara care house.
The study regarding the comparison of plans of others like Tata AIG, ICICI Lombard etc
is done by comparing each plan provided by sahara care house to the plan which is almost
similar to the plan provided by the other competitors.
Through this research I have studied the different aspects of policy making and
attracting the customers:
• Firstly by making the plan according to the need of customers as in common.
• Secondly by adjusting the price of premium according to the age of user.

Sahara India Pariwar’s foray into the field of media and entertainment
began with the launch of Sahara TV on 28 March 2000 with the 24-hour
free-to-air Digital Hindi General Entertainment Channel beamed across
66 countries. On 10th October 2004, the channel was rechristened
Sahara One Television with the launch of the First Indian Sangeet
Awards held at the Royal Albert Hall, London. Sahara One subsequently

In this plan, a customer need to pay Rs.15000/- every year for 15 years.
On doing this, he gets a sum assured of 1,50,000/- and the end of 15th year with a tax
rebate of 80C and 10(10)D
Apart form this, customer also gets money back.
• In 4th yr : 20% of the sum assured: 30,000/-
• In 8th yr : 20% of the sum assured: 30,000/-
• In 12h yr : 30% of the sum assured: 45,000/-
• In 16th yr : 30% of the sum assured: 45,000/-
Total =150000/-
Also customer would get an yearly interest of 9000/- which would amount to
9000 X 15
=135000/-
So, the customer pays Rs.225000/- for 15 years but in return he gets Rs.435000/- from
Sahara at the end of 15th year.

INTRODUCTION OF PROJECT
CONCEPT
A study on the strategic approach adopted by sahara care house to stand strongly in the
competitive service industry. Like what are the various marketing issues related to the policies
provided by the sahara care house and how does it affect the selling level of the sahara care house
and how it is different from the other companies policies. Here I am going to find out what type of
customers are preferring the policies according to their occupation and income level and also let
me understand the efforts that a service provider company sahara care house make to meet the
customers’ demands/requirements as well as making reasonable business.
OBJECTIVE OF STUDY
In a service Company where policies are sold what can be the objective for a trainee?
Yes, it has to do with sales. My SIP was about selling the policies to customers.
The Sales task involves generating leads to recognizing the need of the plan suiting the customers
and finally helping him/her in meeting their objective. Finally converting the lead and getting the
form filled by the customer.
• Identifying: Identifying the customer base for plan contacting the customers and
fixing up meetings with the customers.
• Relationship Building: This is building relationship with the customers.
• Choosing the appropriate Plan: After discussing the Financial status the

appropriate plan is chosen depending on the need of customer.
• Closing the Deal : After the above mentioned steps the following things are done :
• Master Form: The deal is finally closed by completing and signing the form and
attaching the documents required.
Once all this is complete the forms are submitted at the Office and the receipt is handed over to
the customer.
