Details of the Drill 1. Emergency siren hooted at 16.03 Hrs
2. All employees at Safe Assembly Point (camp) 16.05 Hrs 3. Initial Head count done 16.06 Hrs 4. Fire fighting team (with badges)at emergency spot 16.05 Hrs 5. Dodsal Ambulance & Male Nurse at Assembly Point 16.05 Hrs 6. Emergency called off 16.08 Hrs 7. Final Head count done 16.10 Hrs 8. “All Clear” siren hooted at 16.12 Hrs 9. All employees dispersed off/Ambulance returned 16.13 Hrs No. of Fire wardens on site 6 persons (with badges), but leader was found missing. Area of strength • Quick response from the fire fighting team, the capability of the team in controlling the emergency was well demonstrated • Quick response of Ambulance with Male Nurse. • No panic at the site Areas needs Improvement : • Siren function and audibility of alarm bells were found to be ok all over the area.
• Updated version of Emergency plan was not available with the
camp boss. • Emergency Plan Organogram needs to be revised. • Camp boss, to play the role of Emergency commander, needs to be developed by proper training on the task description • Head count method should be developed to get actual / accurate number both in initial as well as final counting. • Fire warden team failed to deliver duty as per the responsibilities and need to be trained further more. • Fire warden team to be nominated for office area also. • Team members should be trained on their task description in order to discharge their duties as per the assigned responsibilities, in meeting the emergency situation. • All employees, irrespective of their position, should come out of the seat and respond to the Emergency Call Siren. Conclusion : • Fire fighting team directly approached the Emergency Point without coming to Assembly Point. • Lack of Quick Response to the drill was noticed and also more confusion was observed in the actions of the participants. 1. The observations were discussed with PMC and the same will be communicated in Safety Meetings and Tool Box Talks to the work force. 2. Action Plan is to be developed for the areas, which need the improvements.
