Daun Mangrove (Avicennia marina) adalah salah satu tanaman yang berkhasiat
sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri
salep ekstrak daun Mangrove (Avicennia marina) terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium
acnes dan Staphylococcus epidermidis, untuk mengetahui konsentrasi yang paling besar
daya aktivitas antibakterinya, dan untuk mengetahui hasil uji evaluasi sediaan salep.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode maserasi untuk menyari senyawa yang akan
digunakan sebagai antibakteri yaitu Flavonoid, dan metode difusi menggunakan lima
sumuran tiap cawan dengan 10 kelompok perlakuan. Biakan bakteri disebar merata pada
nutrient agar. Setiap masing-masing sumuran diberikan sampel sebanyak 0,2 ml dengan
menggunakan spuit 1 cc, sampel berupa salep ekstrak daun Mangrove (Avicennia
marina) dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10% 15%, kontrol positif salep Oxytetrasiklin dan
kontrol negative basis salep yang sudah di lelehkan. Diamati dalam 2x24 Jam dan luas
zona bening diukur menggunakan jangka sorong dengan satuan diubah menjadi
centimeter.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa salep ekstrak daun Mangrove (Avicennia
marina) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dan
Staphylococcus epidermidis, pada konsentrasi 5% terdapat zona hambat sebesar 0,24
cm, konsentrasi 10% sebesar 1,07 cm, dan konsentrasi 15% sebesar 1,68 cm terhadap
bakteri Propionibacterium acnes, sedangkan pada konsentrasi 5% terdapat zona hambat
sebesar 0,37 cm, konsentrasi 10% sebesar 0,84 cm, dan konsentrasi 15% sebesar 1,56
cm terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis . dapat disimpulkan bahwa salep
ekstrak daun Mangrove (Avicennia marina) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap
bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphylococcus epidermidis dengan konsentrasi
15% merupakan konsentrasi paling besar daya aktivitasnya dengan zona hambat masing
– masing sebesar 1,68 cm dan 1,56 cm, dan salep ekstrak daun Mangrove (Avicennia
marina) memenuhi syarat uji evaluasi sediaan.

Mangrove leaves (Avicennia marina) are a plant that has antibacterial
efficacy. The purpose of this research was to find out the antibacterial activity
of ointment extract of leaves of mangrove (Avicennia marina)  to
the bacterium Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis , to find
out the greatest concentration of antibacterial activity, and to find out the results
of the evaluation tests ointment preparation.
This research used the maceration method to detect compounds to be used
as antibacterial agents, namely Flavonoids, and the diffusion method used five
slots per petri dishes with 10 treatment groups. Bacterial culture is distributed
evenly on nutrient agar. Each slots was given a sample of 0.2 ml using a 1 cc
syringe, the sample was a mangrove leaf extract ointment (Avicennia
marina) with a concentration of 5%, 10% 15%, positive control
of Oxytetracycline ointment and negative control of ointment base that had been
melted down. Observed in 2x24 hours and the area of the clear zone is measured
using a caliper with the unit converted into centimeters  .
Research result shows that ointments leaf extract Mangrove (Avicennia
marina) have antibacterial activity to bacteria Propionibacterium acnes
and Staphylococcus epidermidis , at a concentration of 5 % contained inhibitory
zone of 0, 24 cm, the concentration of 10 % at 1 , 07 cm, and a concentration of
15 % at 1.68 cm to the bacterium Propionibacterium acnes , while the
concentration of 5 % contained inhibitory zone of 0, 37 cm, the concentration
of 10 % amounting to 0.84 cm, and a concentration of 15 % amounting
to 1.56 cm to the bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis . It can be concluded
that the mangrove leaf extract ointment (Avicennia marina) has antibacterial
activity to Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis with a
concentration of 15% which is the greatest concentration of activity with
inhibition zones of 1.68 cm and 1.56 cm respectively, and the ointment Mangrove
leaf extract (Avicennia marina) fulfills the requirements of the dosage evaluation
test .
