Travelling to Europe?
The Department of Health has issued new guidelines on Health advice for travellers.
The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). EHIC has replaced the old E111. From 1 January 2006,
E111’s are no longer valid.
UK residents are entitled to free, or reduced cost, state provided healthcare when visiting a European Union
(EU) country but to be covered you will need to take your EHIC with you.
The leaflet is available from your Post Office. You can apply by phone, post or online.
