Sel surya atau panel surya bekerja merubah energi sinar matahari menjadi energi listrik. Sel
How the solar panels work :
Solar cells or solar panels work to convert sunlight into electrical energy. Commercial solar cells
were developed since 1954 by Bell Labs in the United States.
This solar cell operates by taking advantage of the photovoltaic effect phenomenon. In this
phenomenon, when photons (light particles) from sunlight hit a surface with a certain energy, the
electrons in the atoms on that surface will be released. This release of electrons will cause the
surface to be electrically charged and cause an electric current. This electric current can be used
to produce electrical energy.
Solar cells are a renewable energy source (renewable). different from the energy source in the
form of fossil fuels which will run out if you continue to use it, energy from sunlight will not run
out.
In addition, solar cells also do not cause pollution in their operations, so they do not cause air
pollution. This is different from steam power plants which use coal as fuel, which produces a lot
of smoke that pollutes the air. So the use of solar panels is very friendly to the surrounding
environment.
