Descriptive paragraph is a collection of multiple sentences to convey a
distinct message of people.

I have a classmate. Her name is Ririn Aswita. She is 22 years old. She lives
at Diponegoro no. 13. She is tall. She has round face, curly hair, and pointed
nose. Her skin is sawo matang. Her hobbies are reading novel, watching
movie, and running. She is the best friend ever for me.

Generic Structure of Descriptive Paragraph:


- Identification: Introducing subject that will be described.
- Description: Brief details of the subject that will be described.

Language Features of
Descriptive Paragraph:
- Use simple present tense.
- Focus on specific person.
- Use descriptive adjectives.
- Use of action verbs.

Simple Present Tense


Simple present tense expresses daily habits or usual activities.
Example: Khairunnisa goes to school every Monday until Friday.

Simple present tense talks about general truth.


Example: A cat has four feet.
The pattern of simple present tense
Positive sentence:

There are three kinds of to be in present tense. There are: am, is, and are.
They are used to give information about person, thing or place.

Guided-questions technique: a technique consists of some questions
related to the topic which is going to be answered by the students to
make them easier in making paragraph.
