ABSTRAK
ABSTRACT
Poverty is the problem of economic development that must be to solved. Poverty has an
impact on reducing the quality of life, inhibiting the creation of superior human resources,
creating a social economic burden on society, increasing crime and reducing public order.
The purpose of this study is to; 1) analyze the concept and development of Indonesian
poverty; and 2) analyze the influence of macroeconomic indicators and agricultural policies
on Indonesia's poverty alleviation. The research analysis method used is multiple linear
regression analysis. The data used are time series data from 1988-2017. The results showed
that in general the level of poverty continued to decline but continued to slow down. Poverty
is also accompanied by the phenomenon of income inequality which is widening, making it
very difficult for the very poor population to escape poverty. Macroeconomic indicators
consisting of economic growth variables, government spending on infrastructure, inflation
and the rupiah exchange rate had a significant influence on the poverty variable. Agricultural
policy factors consisting of rice production variables have a significant influence on the
poverty variable, while the rice import variable does not significantly affect the poverty
variable.
