Congratulation
Adalah ucapan selamat yang ditujukan kepada seseorang atas prestasi dan kebahagiaan
yang diraih. 
Contoh: prestasi sekolah, lomba (Competition), mendapakan beasiswa(scholarship),
ulang tahun (aniversary), getting permission, etc.

Contoh ekspresi/ungkapan yang digunakan:

      Congratulations, Ana!
      Congratulations on winning the English speech contest!
      Congratulation Adi on being the champion!
      I’m happy for you.Congratulations!
      Congratulations Shidqi, you become the winner!
      Congratulations you passed the exams!
      Congratulations for your graduation!
      That’s a very beautiful handycraft!
      Zahra,That’s a beautiful picture!
      Wow, your menu is delicious!
      Good on you Fayyadh!
      You sing like a real singer.
      Etc.
II. Hope/wish
Adalah ungkapan atau ucapan seseorang yang menunjukkan doa, harapan dan keinginan
terhadap orang lain supaya lebih baik, dan terkabul cita-cita atau yang menjadi
harapannya.

Contoh ekspresi/ungkapan hope/wish:

      I hope ...
      I hope you will win the first prize
      I hope you pass the examination
      Wish you luck
      Wish me luck
      Good luck
       Etc.
III Contoh dialog Congratulation and hope/wish
Dialogue 1
Shidqi : Congratulations, Zahra. I hope you
will be the winner of the singing
contest.
Zahra : Thanks Shidqi. Wish me luck. Amin.
Dialogue 2
Dea : Fayyadh, I got a scholarship.
Fayyadh : Congratulations, Dea. You deserve it.
: Your mom and dad must be proud of
you.
Dea : Yes, thanks. It will help my parents a
lot.

1. Penjelasan Ungkapan Setuju/Persetujuan (Agreement)

a. Ungkapan setuju yang pertama adalah Strong Agreement, dimana ungkapan ini digunakan
ketika kita ingin menunjukkan rasa setuju yang terama sangat, benar benar setuju atau 100
persen setuju. Berikut adalah ungkapan-ungkapan yang sering digunakan:
 I agree with you X I dissagree with you
 You are right X I’m not sure
 I agree completely
 I think it’s not as difficult as...
     I’m not sure that I agree with you
 Exactly, you are perfectly right….
 I could not agree with you more….
 Precisely….
 Exactly, you are right….
 Absolutely, she is right.
 You are perfectly right….
 I am with you….
 No doubt about it….
2. Ungkapan rasa setuju yang kedua yaitu Mild Agreement, yaitu ungkapan yang kita
gunakan ketika kita ingin menunjukkan rasa setuju namun belum benar-benar yakin 100
persen. Tentu sahabat pernah bukan merasakannya? Yakin tapi belum 100%! Nah, dalam
bahasa Inggris dapat kita gunakan beberapa ungkapan berikut ini:
 I suppose so….
 You may be right there bro!
 I agree….
 Tell me about it!
 That’s true, I suppose….

Penjelasan Ungkapan Tidak Setuju (Disagreement)

1. Hampir sama dengan ungkapan setuju diatas, maka ungkapan tidak setuju yang pertama
kita sebut dengan Strong Disagreement. Ungkapan ini kita gunakan untuk menunjukkan
sebuah penolakan yang kasar, atau kita benar-benar yakin bahwa kita SANGAT TIDAK
SETUJU dengan pendapat atau pernyataan orang lain alias kita 100 persen menolaknya.
Berikut ini adalah beberapa ungkapan yang sering digunakan:
 I think you are wrong….
 Of course not….
 That’s absurd….
 I am sorry, that is out of question….
 I’d say the exact opposite
 No way!
 That’s ridiculous….
 I totally disagree….

2. Ungkapan tidak setuju (Disagreement) yang kedua kita kenal dengan istilah Mild
Disagreement. Ungkapan ini kita gunakan ketika kita ingin menyampaikan rasa tidak setuju
namun dengan cara yang halus. Berikut ini adalah beberapa ungkapan yang biasa digunakan:
 I don’t really agree with you….
 I know, but….
 I agree with you, but ….
 I’m not sure about that….
 I don’t think so….

Contoh Kalimat Agree and Disagree:

 I think Valentino Rossi is really an incredible rider.
 Sorry bro, I don’t think so.
 Hey Fizi, what do you think about Jokowi?
 I love that movie so
 I am so sorry Fizi, I think you are wrong. That movie was so boring. I totally disagree
with you, Fizi. The plot is so flat, you know. I think, it made all of the viewers sleep
when they watched it.
 I think Susi and Memei likewatching Upin and Ipin the movie.
 I believe that Santi dan Meichan like watching Upin dan Ipin but I am not sure that
their boyfriends like too.
 Hey bro, look at my new Harley Davidson! It’s so luxurious, isn’t it?
 Exactly, you are perfectly right. It’s one of the most powerful bikes in the world.
 I believe Taufik Hidayat has a secreet plan to win the final game, but his coach is not
sure about his plan.
