Global Entrepreneurs Program (GEP)

Objective:
“AIESEC through its Global Entrepreneurs Programs aims at developing young leaders through
International Traineeships.”

Our objective is to target our country’s youth, the Global entrepreneurs of tomorrow, and help them
enrich their lives by providing them with a holistic international experience which would help them in
their future endeavors. This initiative will challenge their worldview and help them gain a unique
combination of multi-cultural, social and entrepreneurial experience during the formative years of
their lives.

International Projects under Global Entrepreneurs


Program:

* These are some of the projects that are going to be running in the first half of the year (in the
respective countries). There are many more projects on similar lines that are going to be a part of the
Global Entrepreneurs Program.

We aim at sending close to about 500 people from different cities of India for these international
projects. The majority of the participants of these programs would be between the age brackets of 16-
22 years and would be representing the best colleges and universities within our country.

Promotion in schools & colleges - Information desks & seminars

- Events like business plan competition & leadership

Selection of applicants - Screening of applicants through group discussions &

Induction & Preparation of participants - Introducing the participants to the AIESEC network

- Preparation of participants through their

as for being brand ambassadors of our country
during the course of their internship.

Finalizing an internship - Zeroing down on an internship for the participant


(Timeline: February - March) among the available project in the selected
countries based on individual’s competency levels.
- Post finalization of an internship, assisting the
participant with the invitation letters for the VISA.

Internship period - The time period in which the participants will spend
(Timeline: April – July any 2-3 months) 2-3 months being in a different country as part of
the pre-chosen project.

Re-integration & further opportunities in - Sharing their internship experience as case studies
AIESEC network for other to follow.

SAMPLE JOB PROFILE of these projects:

Project “PEACE” POLAND

Department in which the Interns will be running interactive lessons at Polish high schools in small towns
Intern will be working

Job/Task Description 1 Preparation: During the Opening Week interns will participate in workshops and
trainings prepared by training companies, academic teachers and AIESEC
trainers, preparing them for teaching in schools.

Job/Task Description 2 Interns are going to present their national culture, as well during the Opening
Week, Globalia event, as while teaching in schools and promote the idea of
“PEACE – teaching tolerance” project.

Job/Task Description 3 Interns will be preparing lessons’ scenarios during a special session in the
Opening Week, and should working on a new ones constantly during teaching in
schools.

Job/Task Description 4 The main part is teaching in polish high schools, interns divided into groups of 3-
4, will travel into different regions of Poland and run interactive lessons in English
focusing on tolerance.

Job/Task Description 5 Apart from running lessons, interns will take part in different activities organized
by schools, students or teachers (usually organized after lessons or on
weekends).

Preparation required The interns are expected to prepare a short self presentation and a presentation
from the intern before (usually multimedia presentation) of their country and culture. Furthermore, they
arrival are required to become acquainted with materials concerning tolerance and any
other issues that will be accessible on a discussion group and PEACE project's
website.
Project “MIRACLE 2008” MALAYSIA

Job/Task Integration Week:


Description 1
At the beginning of the internship, interns will be required to attend an integration week
with AIESECers and Environmental Professionals.

During this period, the interns will acquire more knowledge of the 5R concept (Rethink,
Reduce, Reuse, Repair and Recycle) and entrepreneurship. To minimize culture shock,
interns will also be introduced to Malaysian history and its socio-cultural environment.
Next, the interns and the MIRACLE 2008 organizing committee will brainstorm discuss
and plan programs and activities that will be held during the community home service
program, youth conference and school program.

Job/Task Opening Ceremony: All stakeholders of MIRACLE will be invited. Interns are required to

traditional celebrations etc.

Job/Task MIRACLE Youth Conference: Interns and AIESECers will plan a 5-day, 4-night
Description 3 conference for youths. Interns and AIESECers will also work together as facilitators

Job/Task Community Home Service: Interns will be placed in community homes and required to
Description 4 hold talks or sharing sessions on their traditions, customs, cultures, and current issues
in their country.

Job/Task Interactive School Program: The task of the interns is to plan, facilitate and guide the
Description 5 students at the assigned school to accomplish tasks/activities which already planned in
integration week.

Job/Task Closing Ceremony: All interns, hosting families, high school representatives, press, and
Description 6 students will be invited. Interns will share their experiences of MIRACLE 2008.

Key learning points During this internship, the interns will gain leadership skills, presentation skills, project
that the intern management skills, facilitating skills and event management skills. The greatest life-

Preparation Pre-internship This is an environmental cum entrepreneurship project. Consequently,

to the topics mentioned above. These suggestions must be given in detail and

Project “ASK on HIV/AIDS” MALAYSIA by Standard Chartered Bank

Intern will be working

Job/Task Description 1 Plan, design, and prepare workshops related to HIV/AIDS education to raise
awareness for lecturers, parents, and youth. Workshops will be held once every
week for the targeted audience and will be facilitated by the interns themselves.

Job/Task Description 2 Working alongside with the local HIV/AIDS related NGOs by organizing activities for
the NGOs with the aim to provide support and education to the marginalized group
of people.

Job/Task Description 3 Raising awareness through the usage of HIV/AIDS video and photography
competition at the national level.

Job/Task Description 4 Group exercises such as workshops are usually conducted at schools or youth
learning center where the participants will be able to enrich their knowledge,
develop their skills and personality.

Job/Task Description 5 Interns will also be required to participate in local AIESEC integration events and
also cultural activities during their time here in Malaysia.

Measurable results At least 4 workshops are held for parents, teachers and youth. At least 10,000
