Background : Fluor albus is a problem that has been a discussion for a long time
for women in general. Fluor albus can be caused due to the lack of awareness of
young women in maintaining the cleanliness of female organs. The lack of
awareness of young women is caused by the lack of knowledge they have. The
aim of this study was to find out the relationship between knowledge of vulva
hygiene and fluor albus (vaginal discharge) in students Sumber 1 of senior high
school Cirebon Regency in 2021
Method : This research is a descriptive correlational study by using a cross
sectional approach. The research sample was students Sumber 1 of senior high
school 2021. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate with the chi
square test. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire.
Result : The results of the univariate analysis showed that the majority of students
who had good knowledge were 133 (97.1%) while 4 (2.9%) students had less
knowledge about vulva hygiene and students who experienced physiological fluor
albus (vaginal discharge) were 60 (43.8%) while 77 (56.2%) students who
experienced pathological fluor albus (vaginal discharge). The result of bivariate
analysis is p-value 0.800 (α≤0.05), which means that there is no significant
relationship between the two variables.
Conclusion : There is no relationship between knowledge of vulva hygiene and
fluor albus (vaginal discharge) at class XI students in Sumber 1 of senior high
school Cirebon Regency in 2021. A little suggestion from researchers at Sumber 1
of senior high school Cirebon Regency to collaborate with the Puskesmas to
conduct counseling by nutritionists about foods that should be avoided when their
students experience Fluor albus (vaginal discharge). In addition, pay attention to
the feasibility and availability of tools for the toilet. So that it will minimize the
incidence of pathological vaginal discharge in students.
